did you guys change the settings to your liking? I was using linkin's settings for the USA track, and felt I needed more front downforce...so I changed to 45 instead of 38. Result, much easier to corner and my times were about the same, if not better.
Kimster's settings for the front wing was 46. Guess I was on the right track This post has been edited by young_soul: Jul 3 2006, 01:41 AM |

yeah, I tought it would affect straightline speed, after some testing....I find the straightline speed reduced by a maximum of 5kmph. But considering I can run faster overall, I might stick to higher front downforce...maybe reduce it a little to 42

push more lah, you use MOMO, should be easy to make a good time.
I wanna ask how you guys slow down in the corners... I have two ways of braking before a corner...first is brake during the straight, reach the corner and accelerate away second is brake-ing into a corner, where the car basically brakes onto the red/white lines and accelerate out. Depending on the corner, this is effective. any other methods? Yesterday I watched F1...I notice they brake much earlier than I do and accelerate just before cornering...as if collecting speed. But when I tried it on the game...too much speed, can't corner well... |

QUOTE(linkinstreet @ Jul 3 2006, 11:21 PM) the markers in the game are not accurate. ecspecially unedited tracks like Malaysia. And I always brake about 100M before the corner. Better speed out of it = Better Acceleration = more top speed I think you brake that far because your brake pressure is only 75%. I use 100%. If I brake that far ahead, I'll lose a lot of time. Racing style different maybe Raikonen...you say corner to the left? I'm playing USA track lar....and I dun think can brake that far ahead and take the S corner well.... |

oh...I meant canada....dunno why the settings were 75%...edison_84 told me where to change it when I complained about the braking point.
Anyway what time can you get in USA with that low downforce settings of yours? |

QUOTE(speedoom @ Jul 4 2006, 10:46 PM) on steering wheel's lcd.... yup, it represents tyre wear and tempreature. When you come out of the pits, you notice the tyres being green rite? Basically its not heated enough. I don't really know what other colors there are, but I remember red means need to change got differents colour for tyre....purple/violet,red,orange,yellow...what it meant? tyre wear or tempature? |

the wheel player is only -0.014 faster than me
wheel players have more advantage in settings, keyboard players need to change here and there according to the track This post has been edited by young_soul: Jul 5 2006, 01:36 PM |

QUOTE(speedoom @ Jul 5 2006, 10:14 PM) about tyre...i thought I think yellow comes first...coz I saw yellow line on half my front left tyre when I was playing in USA.purple/violet - cold tyre red - heated and at optimum condition orange - overheated or picked some debris yellow - blistered, dirty & lack of grip |

Magny Cours is in France lar...
like Suzuka is in Japan or Sepang is in Malaysia Circuit de Villenueve, Canada I think its the track names... about the graphics...you might need more RAM. The longer you play, the less free RAM you have. Defragging helps a lot....but I spent almost 10 hours defragging and mine's still not finished |
