yup, need to upgrade the DX lineup..
i am stuck with D300s for Dx setup, not going to D7000 because it feels.. light..
i like the fast D300s but i like the video option that the D7000 have..

well, lets hope the D7100 or D400 can be a good replacement..
and lenses too! no new lens for Dx liao~

as for the Fx no need lah.. enough with D4 and D600 dulu lah..
maybe make a 2470VR or something, but i dont think there's much use n having VR in that range on FX
*
When you shoot with D800, VR helps tongue.gif The 36MP with high pixel density sensor isn't exactly forgiving to handshake, let alone mirror slap.

FF+1.4?
*

U all terror la.. By looking at the pic, know already what lens and aperture
*
Bokeh at the edge showing its on FF, plus the subject size vs background, looks like a 50mm or 85mm, but more like a 50mm to me.

This has a bigger sensor than the 1 series... and how come a Voigtlander instead of Nikkor?

50mm f/1.8

for those who answer wrong, go face wall please.  whistling.gif
*
Ho ho... ok I got the 50mm part right at least laugh.gif aperture salah though T_T

Let's see sensor betul or wrong, but should be FF cause crop sensor won't have the teardrop bokeh shape on the edges.

im curious, why the teardrop bokeh only FF?
bokeh is a feature of the lens right...
sensor size only determines the DoF.
*
Because DX can't capture the edge of the lens? DX only capture what's in the middle portion and teardrop bokeh only appear at the edge of the lens.

QUOTE(KTCY @ Feb 21 2013, 12:40 PM)
D600 can throw already laugh.gif
*
I still prefer the FX goodness biggrin.gif

QUOTE(Everdying @ Feb 21 2013, 12:52 PM)
i think i hear a D7100 calling...
so with 70-200 + 2x TC + 1.3x crop mode = 420-1200mm equivalent  whistling.gif
*
This is awesome... I'm already having fun with my D800 in crop mode and still got more MP than my D90/D700... now this D7100 lagi cun! Good for those always going to Sepang and no budget for those supertelephoto.

QUOTE(Everdying @ Feb 21 2013, 01:04 PM)
<<i'm a naughty boy who just used a naughty word>>.
means every single current DX and FX have their own grips...no more days of interchanging...zzz.

btw, i cannot even get in nikon site...kena overloaded i guess.
*
D300/D300s/D700 days biggrin.gif But that's the only body able to do, the rest nope... Oh wait, there's D80 and D90.

QUOTE(Silverfire @ Feb 21 2013, 05:35 PM)
D7100 specs look excellent!
*
With this kinda of D7100 spec, I'm thinking the D400 will never come into picture.

QUOTE(Everdying @ Feb 21 2013, 05:39 PM)
but actually...where is that nikon x100 wannabe?
*
I'm more keen on this actually! But the D7100 specification did surprise me, spec wise I'm quite impressed.

great cameras as usual. the focusing system is really superb (altho its said to hav the same as D700, but actually, its a tad better from my pov). lots of things to talk about these cameras - but playing with the D800's menu, its something new, more refreshing tongue.gif

for now my D3 sits nicely in the cabinets and D800 is on full utilization mode! laugh.gif
*
D800 using the newer interface... at the moment I use both D700/D800 but now I'm not used to the reddish D700 screen instead of greenish D800 doh.gif

if ur talking about processing then i must say i dont really see a difference between the D700 and the D3. i only feel the difference on focusing fast-ness laugh.gif
*
I actually didn't notice speed differences between D3 and D700 doh.gif I'm not sensitive enough lol

honestly nikon messed up during the D3, and D700 era. people ended up with the 700 laugh.gif

not much difference pun. but in my personal opinion, the D3's abit sensitive, in low light without the AF assist light (it doesnt have any sweat.gif ) it still can nail focus nicely.

but i've had 3 x D3 bodies and 2 of em got focusing probs. needs to AF fine tune. and had  4 x D700 bodies, oni one has got focusing issues that needs AF fine tune.

for me, the D700 for the win. why? u can choose to add the grip or not. sometimes wanna travel no nid grip leh tongue.gif and the grip has got the knob which really helps as well. and i really love when i can choose to put grip or not laugh.gif

as for the D3, dual card slots is a great feature, and i like where they put they ISO button.

either cameras is super good if one knows how to fully utilize it. if use super power cameras but pics like crap oso no use rite?  thumbup.gif
*
D700 has pop up flash! Commander more tongue.gif, D3 kenot xD

QUOTE(Tony Stark @ Feb 21 2013, 09:29 PM)
yea man. iso performance up to 12800 still usable imo laugh.gif

but i never use that high oso la..not that im afraid, but i dont need to tongue.gif
really ah tat cheap? last time i bought so exp meh..  cry.gif
*
Mine lagi butthurt, I got mine for the initial price like 2-3 months before the price drop... cause wanna go for holiday decided to bring D800 cause can video doh.gif

oh ya that's actually a great one to have too! pop up flash ftw! laugh.gif

but actually ah, i kinda enjoying the D800's video mode. really good. even the LV is wayyyyy better than the laggy D700/D3 ones tongue.gif
*
Yeap, after using D800's LV, the D700's LV is really crap...

D7100 really worth the price? People commented a bit overprice for DX

I plan to upgrade my d3100, Not sure go d7100 or direct FX (FX need new set of lens...)
Hate my d3100, hardly track and focus flying bird

Taken with 70mm d3100

The lower the shutter, the nicer the panning looks. But if its blur, then you still didn't nail the shot... I would prefer to go higher shutter speed to nail the shot and still with panning effect. Especially side view should be easier to get all parts intact due to the motion direction.

Not cosplay event, just promoter in akihabara
I use 1/30 since they not moving very fast, But from the picture clearer show my hand shake up down
Best using monopod for this kind of shot?
*
From my experience panning at Sepang, I find shoot without monopod gives me better result, maybe because I'm shooting with 70-200 VR2 + TC-20E III instead of those 300mm, 400mm or 200-400mm supertelephoto or I'm not used to panning on monopod.

My shots from Super GT 2012,

The usual easy side ways panning,
