1st of all you must understand the STB given by TM is a stupid unit.
it can only be used for playing HyppTV. dont expect it to do anything else fancy. The USB port is as good as used for charging phone only.
*
LOL I forgot it was from TM. Anyway thanks for the info bro.

Looks like Decapic already answer the question on STB.

Your internet and LAN should work fine.

There's no other alternatives. Homeplug is expensive. So, I have to pull the Ethernet cable all the way from living room to my room.

depends do you need the speed or not.
LAN cable offers the best latency and speed among all other solutions.

But if you dont need the speed, home plug offers the most elegant (no wires running all over) solution.

Latency is the one that I'm most concern at. I guess there's no other alternative then.

Hmm. Just installed Unifi just now..

Since my pc and tv is quite far away(in a different room). so they put the router/modem/phone all at my pc and the iptv at my tv which is in another room. the default rj 45 that came in the box is very short so they brought a long long rj45 to test from the modem to the iptv and it was working.. So when finish installation and test all was working, they took back the long long rj45 cable.. I thought they should provide it together? Or we must get a longer rj45 cable ourselves?

Anyway, satisfied with the speeds. Getting 5.00~5.12 mbps dl and around 5.10mbps ul and ping to local server was around 5~11 and singapore around 24+, tokyo was 100+

And my router they give was a silver colour router same colour with the modem.. Modem is huawei and router is d-link i think..

My installation was last Friday and they doesn't provide the RJ45 also. I bought CAT5.E from Viewnet 20 meters for RM20.

According to TM..IPTV using dedicated bandwidth..shouldn't affect our internet line..  wink.gif

It suppose to be like that. My VIP5 downloads doesn't affect when I'm watching IPTV.

I called unifi hotline about this.. and there's 2 things..

1) Actually we should get the 15 meters free.. I told the CS that the installers used back my old streamyx cables instead of giving me new one, and i told them the cable already very old, around 8 years+(since i first installed streamyx) so i would like new cables... Then I found those installers that tm hire, if you dont ask them about it they will buat bodoh and wont give you the cable..

So the CS representative helped me file a report and said he will get back to me.. which leads to

2) Just the next day itself TM called me to ask about my report and then they will check with the installers..
Then the next day(yesterday) TM called me around 9+ i was at a meeting that time so i couldn't answer their calls and today around 10+ TM called me again to ask me whether im at home or not they are coming to give me the cables.. and so yeah now i got the 15 meters cable already...

Just want to say, their customer service and quick action gave me a very good impression and I hope it will continue on with other users as well... So far i'm very happy with unifi, im getting the speeds that im promised and calling their hotline to enquire/make a complaint also very fast and swift action taken.. Good job to Unifi for that.

Guys, I've just subscribe to VIP5 last month. Yesterday I received an email from TM says that I need to pay RM269.55 for "One Time Charges" and "Recurring Charges".

I thought TM is having promotion now for free installation and free 1 month subscription? Why am I being billed with this kind of ridiculous amount of money.
