I found Jaime vendera raise your voice book at amazon for $30 us... apparently its very good based on the reviews.. can order at mph nad borders 2.... any 1 heard of it?

I bought directly from Jaime's website the downloadable version ie the pdf version (and then I print it out on a laser printer and bind to make it a book).

RYV is easy reading, easy and clear explanation, even for a novice (but of course few basics such as lip bubbling etc need to know). Plus you'll get exercises (including warmup exercises) designed to strengthen your voice, expand your range, develop vibrato, work to eliminate vocal breaks, developing grit, growl (for those metal screams etc biggrin.gif ) etc. Even whistling tone. After purchasing, you'll be able to access the members section where there's audio files (for vocal exercises, interviews) and video files (see how Jaime conduct his vocal training session with some of his students).

Raise Your Voice 2 is in the making. Not sure when RYV2 will be available.

The book explains, shows and guides you to the proper/healthy way (technically) how you can improve your vocal. But Jaime Vendera is no miracle worker ie dont expect that simply buying and reading the book one will automagically attain a super duper voice... the student need to work his/her ars* off and do the vocal exercises. If you are serious in wanting to improve you voice, I would say GET THE Raise Your Voice book by Jaime Vendera

Btw, the downloadable version is only USD19.95 (~RM70/-)

How big your vocal range do you want? Well Jaime himself has 6 octaves plus the vocal power to smash glass (see Myth Buster). Even japanese TV have tested Jaime ability to smash glasses with his voice alone (ie without amplification)
(link to download the Japanese TV interview with Jaime --> http://www.thevoiceconnection.com/japviduncompressed.wmv )
(link to Jaime's message board discussing vocal range --> http://pub11.bravenet.com/forum/879185519/show/678139 )

Hmm if not mistaken long long time ago ( 3-4 years ago) my friend and I were quite interested in learning vocal. IIRC he told me the fee should be around 150? hmm.gif dunno why in the end we din take it. No time or money problem lol.

Btw my mom also joined those aunty-aunties vocal class before xD

Join choir helps also i think smile.gif in learning the basic way of warmup...etc

I've got vocal lessons before. erm but mostly it will depend much on yourself when it comes to learn vocals ..

everyone can sing, you just have to master on how to control your voice .. some are born to sing .. some are not born to sing .. but with determination they can .. everyone can sing ...

Hi,
Kinda interested in singing (Don't laugh, my bandmate wants to join too tongue.gif ) and wondering if there're singing lessons offered in PJ/KL area??? If so, what are my options and how much is the fees? Are they really worth it or am I better off training by myself? smile.gif

Hi, Zep Freak, try the Singing Shop. They have various centers in Kuala Lumpur. They charged RM260 a month for 4 lessions and a registration fee of RM30. I went there to inquire and found that they have no centers in Johor Bahru, so cannot attend laaa...

You can always train by yourself, but it is faster to learn through a "guru". This is what I found, when trying to learn computer programming on my own. But don't just depend on your guru. Even if you have a "guru", act like you are training by yourself and whatever the guru teaches is something extra. That way, you don't become overly dependent on your guru and forget that you also have the capacity to learn, based on your own efforts.
