im convinced that iOS 6.1 is indeed a good upgrade, for the iP5 at least. now my phone has wifi coverage at places of my house that previously cannot be reached via wifi. thumbup.gif

battery life not so much of a significance improvement on my unit thou. but the wifi stability is enough for me, for now. biggrin.gif

I think for this Iphone5, u should only enable 3G/WIFI when u want surf the net. If u are working and only receive calls and SMS, having basic phone features should be adequate.
Provided most of your contacts list doesn't use whatsapp ... Whatsapp has become so commonly used that my Message app is soon to become redundant. I know it's a matter of opinion but I lol when people suggest to sacrifice data in lieu of better battery life. Might as well don't get a smartphone. Or get a cheaper smartphone that has all the basic smartphone features. They generally consume lesser power. But noooooooo, people want the latest. Even if it means turning off data.

Having a spare charger in office or a car charger would seem to be the most practical solution instead of turning off data, wouldn't you think so?

I suggest you to stop using car charger. I faced/heard alot from my customers. It will eventually fry out the board. If you are lucky enough just the battery. If I were you I wont risk it. Also, overheated problem after using cheap car charger its very common thou.

There are some ppl who wants to save on their phone bill and they have wifi around them so I think it's ok. My parents are like that. Wifi @ home/work place and they're at work or at home most of the time, so they can live with that.

What irritates me most is, some of my friends has data plan but will turn off their data to save battery so basically there is no point msging them on whatsapp. And their main mode of messaging is SMS!

I have a car charger, another charger in my work bag. Still considering whether to invest in a powerbank or not.

In my case so far, I have the cable in the car for those "in case" moments. But my usage so far have allowed me to use from 730 am - 11pm with still about 20-30% left.

But I do agree with it in some sense. The car alternator already lots of loads and the spike in wattage each time the radiator fan kicks in. Even worse when air cond compressor/fan kicking in and out as well. It doesn't produce a steady current to charge it properly.

I just bought my iPhone 5 last week Sunday. Digi contract with latest iOS install. As I always on my 3G and wifi, my batt can last for whole day till night at around 7-8pm. Just like today I unplug at 7am till now 6:xxpm my batt still got 30%. So is consider improve.

Maxis do have awesome speed. But, to be honest, their coverage is not wide enough. Still the same old problem, at my office - 3G (great speed), at my house downstair - Edge (jialat speed), at upstair - 3G (acceptable speed, with disconnection sometimes). FYI, my location is at Klang town & my office's distance to my house is only 2 - 3 km away.

Indeed! Maxis 3G internet speed so great, but what is the point if u r having such speed but only certain area got 3G coverage ? It is like u r having 5GB quota but slow internet speed..
