( your vet can't even bother to surf and confirm dosage before prescription) What can I say - like I always say before here , your animal , die also I don't care ( research , research , research ) Btw it's much easier to obtain veternarian drug in Sabah than over east !!! ZzzzzZzzzzzz.......... going back to sleep rather than waste time here ( I willing to share but without proper input I can't help solve the equation ) Have a nice day |

QUOTE(dlyz @ Dec 3 2016, 12:32 PM) Sorry for late reply. [attachmentid=8196484]I saw them on youtube and tot they would be cool if can get them for my RES. Yes, my RES should be max out in size now. I'm in Sarawak. I did consider koi pond but at the moment no plan to build one. I'm a koi guy mainly and used to have a 2000 liter pond which was demolished cos my mother superstitious. But one day i will rebuild bigger and better location within my house area. Save money first. Perhaps if that day ever come. Maybe build a separate pond for the RES which are not recommend to keep with koi. Problem with RES is they have soooo much waste. I keep them in a old bath tub outside under shade with only 1 inch of water, to make it easier to change water once or twice a day. Makes good ferterlizer, lol. If really do make pond, filtration cleaning will be a very heavy chore, so i tot a tub where i can just change water daily will be easier than wash filter chamber. Having gout doesn't help either as prevent me to do very strenuous chore. Maybe i just find one of those quarantine tank for koi and mod it with drain and add some basking area. Daily dump and add water could be easier to care for the pet. Buy from China ! Feed in another tub will save the daily water change chores a little . Sarawak - kch , Myy , btu , sbw. ....... |

QUOTE(Relentless @ Dec 3 2017, 10:50 PM) Hi sam, long time How big are yours now ? Also beside black water they may also need some substrate or rotting leaves to bury under like Chitra chitra softshell to feel better ! yours are amazon variant, mine's colombian variant yeah,I put them in catappa leaves soaked water Though,I plan on using peat moss for the same,I purchase 75kg of peat moss for the purpose of keeping mata2 turtle Now,I am keeping them in 2 feet industrial grade tray with 2 inch of black water, with several catappa leaves in the water so that the turtle can feel at ease Is it true that they're hardy?several thread over western side state that they do perish suddenly Also,do you think they need bigger space now that they're bigger? But I have one that don’t bury under but active moving around the tank looking for prey . Out of dozen or so I bought over the years only 1 died at about 6 or 7” for unknown reason ( just drop dead overnight ) Cheers |

QUOTE(ron c @ Dec 4 2017, 12:56 PM) Rare because can’t bring into the country! world population of them in captive all over the world are booming !! With a few million of them left I don’t seem them as that rare when compared with the plowshare @ Yniphora @ angonoka tortoise ! And I used to breed them by the “ dozens “ every year but can’t really sell them legally so cut down !! Just to enjoy the hobby more - dig eggs , incubate , hatch and watch the hatchlings grow and start all over . I am a law bidding citizen ! Cheers |

QUOTE(Relentless @ Dec 4 2017, 02:13 PM) Hi sam.mine 3.5inch in length and I did like what you mentioned. I am sure the turtle feel better with plenty catappa leaves on the bottom for it to blend with. Gosh. Now that s a rare occurance for the turtle to passed away. I guess its a different from other turtle Mine feeding well as i counted the feeder fish Did you breed yours? Not yet , maybe because not big /old enough ! They are more complicated than say snapping turtle which grow and mature faster ! Cheers |

QUOTE(Relentless @ Dec 4 2017, 04:37 PM) QUOTE(SAMPERTH @ Dec 4 2017, 03:35 PM) You deworm your babies? Predator type like mata mata and snapping or even slider are easy to deworm - inject the worming medication into the feeder fish or shrimp and feed ( tip is starve your babies for at least a few meal till it look hungry and constant moving around looking for a feed , before feeding ) Cheers This post has been edited by SAMPERTH: Dec 4 2017, 04:18 PM |
