Any idea what could be causing this poor DSL connection? Used to be 20+dB for SNR. Encountering frequent disconnections due to the low SNR. My internal house wiring lines have never changed. Could it be the junction box on the TM pole or the port in the DSLAM? Already made a complaint to TM and SKMM and still waiting for a fix.

Used to be 20+dB for SNR.

is that before upgrade to 8Mbps? or already on 8Mbps?

if before upgrade, then what speed you were upgrading from? 1Mbps? 4Mbps?
cos raising hardcap speed always reduce snr rates

if already 8Mbps, was fine but now getting low snr, then it could be wiring issue or problem at TM's side

so the higher SNR the better?
*
yeah

normally snr is more than 15 for stability

best if you have 20+, but too high also not good?

but attenuation lower is better

if snr high but attenuation also very high like 50 above, also not good

higher they set the speed rate, snr goes lower, attenuation may go higher or on line quality or interruptions or the copper line length

if we get not so good rate for both, what should we do? Call 100?
*
as long as you have the right speed and stable

then it's fine, doesn't really matter if rates are not so good

if you have problems then should call them see what they can do for you,

if they couldn't fix it due to too far or technical issue, mostly ask you to downgrade for lower speed sweat.gif

so if my current 4mbps , line attenuation high around 40-50

and snr is low at 13-22

then my line will not support for 8mbps and also will not support in future, unless I move house?

Is your location covered under 8Mbit now? If not then good luck biggrin.gif

SNR can be fixed, check your copper connection

currently not yet, some area near my place just have 8mbps recently, im afraid even if someday available in my place , do u think i can go 8mbps with my line current status? snr is low

i have down 22 up 24 since upgraded to 4mbps

but last week noticed my snr down dropped from 22 to 12.9, snr up still remain 24, even tried direct connection still the same

luckily line still stable without any crc error, so scare it's getting worse someday then i cant even use 4mbps sweat.gif

is it possible when 8mbps available for my area, I can get better stronger snr and low attenuation line?

i have no idea how those things work, where the DSLAM is, hopefully any TM insider can tell here rolleyes.gif

first need to make sure if you really have ipv6 active

http://test-ipv6.com/

try go this web see if you got ipv6 address detected

if no ipv6 detected, then maybe really other connection problem smile.gif

according to the budget, streamyx upgrade double the speed start by phase until dec 2017

Oh? I thought streamyx users were left out

How if my current line speed not eligible upgraded to higher than 4mbps due to my line quality? sad.gif

My home still 4mbps, but snr is around 19. To go 8Mbps need reduce like 10 become 7-8 snr could be unstable

The free 8mbps upgrade one was my other line in other place

trust me .. you'll get nothing, maybe they will offer u crap webe, and to get higher speed, snr need higher not lower.. must be 30+
*
ya lah my 4mbps currently is 19, if raise to 8mbps, snr will be reduced to about 10 which is 8, too low and not stable

my upgraded 8mbps line, before upgrade snr is 22, after upgraded 12

but webe will suck in my place, it uses same network as celcom here, will be useless for me sad.gif
