Life hacks are little ways to make our lives easier. These low-budget tips and trick can help you organize and de-clutter space; prolong and preserve your products; or teach you something (e.g., tie a full Windsor) that you simply did not know before.

sos
Most of these came from a great post on tumblr. There is also a great subreddit ‘r/lifehacks‘ with some fantastic tips as well.

I actually use a CD spindle to organize my speaker cables, I drill 2 holes for in/out direction. Can lengthen / shorten the cable lengths just be turning the spindle cover.

what I use there is the shaker spring, the thing has broke in two since I last went to primary school.
just coil the middle part first then the whole thing is easy.

I can't be bothered to copy the usrnames of the posters that were talkin about the spring being wrapped around the cable.

To the 2 (?) persons that were calling the other guy a 2". Sure, you can wrap a cheap pen spring around a thin cable such as what was shown in the pic. However, such a spring will offer no support for the cable as it is too soft -> which will result in the same problem -> cable disconnecting/breaking from the head.

If you were to use a better spring with more and harder coils, I doubt you'd be able to wind your cable through the spring.

# Fan cleaning

Hook your old pillow case over a fin of the ceiling fan, hold the end and slide it along the fin. The pillow case traps all the dust and when you're done you can take it outside, turn it inside out, shake it clean and wash it as usual.

Mine.

Too lazy to wash your toilet bowl? Try this..

Pick a solid clothes soap (sabun buku) and put in old sock.tie the end nicely so insoluble soap residue wont clog your toilet tank. Place it in the tank. Everytime you flush, you will use soapy water to gush down any residues in the bowl. Try it for one week and you will see the results.

Thanks

Months! But it depends on how frequent you use the toilet and size of the soap.if you break it to pieces, hence increase in surface area, cepatla habis. Make sure that your bowl is clean on the first place. pH and detergent not only cleanse your toilet, but also inhibit growth of nasty bacteria and mold

If you were to use a better spring with more and harder coils, I doubt you'd be able to wind your cable through the spring.

sorry to dig this up
I have to ...wait....
it is my duty as a human being to correct some misconception

if you take the effort to try this out
the logic will come to you as to how to wind the spring onto the wire
even with a strong wire you still can do it

the 2nd is that "soft" wire as you claim give no support, thus back to square one (breakage at the head)
...is wrong

unless you want the wire to hold up to strong tugging
any normal wire that have frayed area at the head is due to normal usage
the problem with normal usage, is the wire is to pliable while the head is to rigid, even with the included pliable bits
the spring is made of metal, which is ductile in nature, and the spring material is rigid regardless of size
it is by design that the spring can be bend 180 without crimping (so much empty spaces in between)

so the function here is that when you start to bend the wire
the spring held the area nearest to the head to avoid majority of the force applied to that area
the spring will distribute the force evenly though out the whole body of the spring

so in a way, a too strong of a spring is bad for this trick as well
as the area after the spring, the wire faces the most forces applied, as the strong spring is less likely to bend

so the best is to find the cheap spring in those clicker types of pens
remember the spring act as a exoskeleton to the wire, distributing the force through out the wire at the rigid head
and preventing the wire being bent at a specific place

No cotton socks la. Or at least find a very fine net or anything that can filter the insoluble soap residue, or you will have a hard time to unclog your tank
