QUOTE(HiT-AbLe @ Jan 24 2013, 03:26 PM) Does it apply to legacy RM99 only? I remember when I applied for the RM99 package, they only had FUP for their broadband, not "Maxis 3G".. it was pretty clear it was separated. One was for the broadband modem, and the other was solely for your phone's data. If I traced back my history on LYN, I previously asked a question before.. whether I could remove my SIM and place it in a 3G stick to online instead of using my phone to tether. That was years back.. so during that time, I didn't have any idea about all this.. I just thought my data is only applicable to my phone and the modem will need to use a different SIM haha. But yeah, I remember last time Maxis CS did tell me that unlimited broadband is DIFFERENT from the Maxis 3G unlimited data. So yeah, FUP wasn't stated for the Maxis 3G Unlimited Data package. Or at least, I wasn't informed about it.. because it was an ADD-ON to my existing line and the CS just enabled it for me + charge me RM99. That's all.. no black or white about FUP.

QUOTE(STEVE75 @ Jan 24 2013, 04:03 PM) I think I've lost the registration form. I registered at Maxis Exclusive Partner (MEP) outlet. Can I get the copy from this outlet? Tx I think it's best you go to KLCC / TTDI.. for me, I might have to go back to Maxis Northam Tower (Penang).. I cannot even remember where I registered mine. I just called to Maxis to enable the RM99 plan.. phone line registered in 1999 I think..

QUOTE(jameslow @ Jan 24 2013, 05:55 PM) Serious? 1999 already have this plan? I refer back my monthly statement, it was started since August 2009, no need to sign anything, just call 123 to enabled this service, previously owned 250mb for RM 30 / month. I still remember the CS said the unlimited plan offer will end soon, so I switched to unlimited immediately. My phone line was registered in 1999. The data package was enabled via 123 back in 2007

QUOTE(kahjye @ Jan 24 2013, 08:19 PM) my friend who work for maxis received an email about do not advise customer about the unlimited. there is still no confirmation but still there is no sign of quota removal In other words, the higher management wants to shut us off in the dark. Totally cancelling off all liabilities..

Yeah, I recalled why I took up the unlimited plan.. cuz I kena bill shock and the CS recommended me to take this plan up because it is unlimited. Then I asked the CS if this plan will always be RM99, regardless how much data is used.. the CS replied yes cuz it's unlimited. No limit to exceed..
After broadband came out with 6gb FUP, I called CS again and said if that 6gb is for my plan.. CS said NO, cuz that is Maxis Broadband and mine (our legacy plan) is Maxis 3G. That's why we don't have a special page to check quota like Maxis Broadband page. CS also told me that Maxis 3G plan is only for phone, cannot remove and put in broadband stick.. that's why I popped the question here in LYN and tried.. also can. Anyway, that's not the case.. what I wanted to say is, back then.. Maxis CLEARLY segregated the Maxis 3G Unlimited plan from Broadband plans.. So, what FUP the broadband packages have, does NOT apply to ours. This is because, we dialed in to activate the package ON TOP of our existing plans, and CS also never say got FUP!

QUOTE(ibnuasad @ Jan 24 2013, 11:04 PM) For my case I was using Maxis Broadband, a Maxis Manager called me saying that they could not keep resetting my connection to get full speed due to FUP. He recommended me to take the RM 99 Unlimited with no FUP that he is also personally using. He also agreed to waive the Maxis Broadband contract termination fee. This was way back early 2009. Yes, that's what I'm trying to point out.. Maxis themselves segregated the plans from the beginning. Broadband is broadband, Maxis 3G internet the other.. so Maxis shouldn't lump our plans together since we were initially told that our plan didn't have FUP. The FUP they stated cannot be implemented because we didn't agree to any FUP whatsoever..This post has been edited by mel5582: Jan 24 2013, 11:12 PM

OK peeps, who can draft a proper complaint.. Maxis didn't know we have an internet website archive that can cache their website. I managed to dig back to their 2008 version of their website: http://web.archive.org/web/20080203111338/...earch/index.aspAs you can see, NO FUP stated. Better save the website for personal reference and ammo

Yeah.. now that I remember everything, I'm really ticked off about the quota..
Edit: Channel this to SKMM/NCCC/etc.. don't channel to Maxis only.. and don't provide your details to them.. later they change your account info.. those unethical dimwits..

Now this will backfire their own T&C they so strictly follow. It's good to be a loyal customer, cuz I can trace back all their crap all these years.. even newer staff also don't know, we need to educate them.

QUOTE(ibnuasad @ Jan 25 2013, 12:02 AM) What software website you use? Hahaha.. it's the internet web archive.. it was meant to cache all websites through the years, for reference. I use it sometimes to look back at some websites that I miss.. so came the idea to trace back Maxis' site to confirm my memories. Indeed, my memory didn't fail me

QUOTE(keny1st @ Jan 25 2013, 01:28 AM) i cant think on any reason why maxis want to implement quota on these plan, no matter legacy 99, biz68 and biz99.. they earn a lot from these plan, although is unlimited, but let think on others way.. if they really said that bandwidth is too expensive for them. they can discontinue the unlimited plan like legacy99 on the biz68 and biz99. but why choose to implement quota? if they really scare that bandwidth is expensive, they can discontinue the plan. current subscriber win, maxshit also wont lose current subscriber, maxshit win also. win-win condition. They cannot discontinue this plan.. in fact, back in 2009.. they tried to. That's why they had to revise their T&C to honor the plan they sold to us. That's why it's stated in the FAQ that all existing users shall remain except new sign ups. This is also the reason why we kept our data all this years..

They implement traffic management/shaping instead of throttling your entire speed. They will manage based on packet headers, such as web browsing and youtube streaming remains the same while p2p apps will be policed. Definitely a more effective way for an overall experience, rather than dropping the speed entirely..

I'm planning to have a thorough chat about this hooha with my cousin (also my lawyer) when I balik Penang. Whatever it is, I'm most likely going over to Celcom corporate.. I can live with the quota, at least the throttled speed WORKS haha. Cheaper call rates too.. Maxis has done it, bravo, kudos for disappointing all your long term customers.

That aside, I wish to know.. what's the speed like after quota now? Is it slower? Possibly 30% of the actual speed? This was info given by CS when she called me back regarding my complaint.
