Dota began as a user-made modification for Warcraft 3 and has grown into one of the most played online games in the world. Following in the tradition of Counter-Strike, Day of Defeat, Team Fortress, Portal, and Alien Swarm, Dota 2 is the result of Valve hiring the community developers who built the mod and giving them the chance to finally build a full product out of their idea with the help of a professional team of developers and artists at Valve.

As for the gameplay, it’s a little hard to describe. The camera is set in the traditional RTS perspective, but it wouldn’t be fair to call Dota an RTS. And while each hero starts at level 1, and many times hits the level cap of 25, it wouldn’t be fair to call it an RPG.

Lots of people have tried to assign various genre names to Dota, but we think Action RTS is probably the most descriptive. And while we don’t spend a lot of time trying to figure out what genre the game is inventing, we can’t stop playing it internally!

Dota 2 is free to play via steam but still in beta staged where is not open to all yet but you can have the access by getting the key. Dota 2 only have cosmetic item that wont affect ur hero.

So far...the only hero I tried that can fight with drow is NS...but he only part time can fight...Night time only.

i do play alone sometimes and i usually get constant yelling from unknown people (which i presume russians) while playing saying noob-stupid-f***-etc. dahla kalah, now have to tahan russian membebel..double damage yo
yup. just after the game finish load, people choose drow and i was like- f*** that. f*** drow and f*** her ancestors. and everytime when they win, drow would be the 1st one to lanci.

kinda hard to counterpick drow i think. when she has a shadow blade and daedalus that game is f***ed

oh yes i am mad.



at one game which i played with my housemates, my housemate screamed when he got killed by drow when we lost. 

i think its much more fun to make new id and own noobs just for pure enjoyment sake. if the game gets too competitive it gets too stressful.

DR is easy to counter pick. remember DR don't have any escape mechanism, easily gankable early on.

hey guys, just wanna ask, are all of dota 2 and steam file in one single folder in the C:/Program Files/Steam?

Cause I am planning to copy that one folder from my fren to play dota 2. Is it possible?

It seems like a lot of stuffs got removed from the store, baby roshan, bastion announcer and other announcers as well are gone. I was thinking to get a bastion announcer but it's not in store anymore, anyone has this problem?

so sad, hard victory 4(my team) v 5(enemy). but not counted as a win because my own teammate abandon early. Should have just left the game after he abandon, no point playing right?
