It's a dynamic game, there's no reason why any hero (in this case AM) should be restricted to being picked against intelligence heroes only. Personally, I've seen successful skill builds that do not include leveling up mana burn (Deso etc.) He does after all have good base attack speed and an escape mechanism for safe farming.

QUOTE(-Torrz @ Jan 22 2013, 01:12 AM) guys, your win to lose ratio 1:1 or? my losses are more than my wins and it's not making me wanna play more because it's everytime trying to make no. of wins = no. of losses most of the time, more than improving them. If your W/L ratio is important to you, then you have no choice but to become a tryhard. It works, albeit slowly. Fastest way to open up a large positive difference between the 2 is to start up a new account.just played a game, roaming pudge, feed mid 3 times, abandom game = another undeserved loss. |

QUOTE(hard2k @ Jan 23 2013, 12:37 PM) Skill bracket rating im not sure the rating is base on how many game play or what Ratings are based on who you win against (something like the chess ELO ratings). A much better measure than win rate IMHO.Skill Bracket Rating Range Current Population Diamond 1950+ ~ 1% Platinum 1450-1949 ~ 23% Gold 1200-1449 ~ 31% Silver 900-1199 ~ 33% Bronze 0-900 ~ 12% |

QUOTE(megadisc @ Feb 7 2013, 11:32 PM) Well, it's hard to say. I applaud the idea of providing a rating system, but DBR wasn't really accurate. I know quite a few players who are much better than me, but their DBR says otherwise. Clearly Gaben was right that Dotabuff's attempt at ranking players isn't up to scratch. |

QUOTE(TOROBO @ Feb 13 2013, 08:08 AM) BD = backdoor. The act of attacking enemy structures without the presence of your creeps. Towers etc. will regenerate as a response to backdooring.Fat = well-farmed. Usually indicates a hero has completed his/her core items to function well in game. Fat is a very subjective term, as different heroes have different item priorities. |

QUOTE(TOROBO @ Feb 13 2013, 10:16 AM) oh,no wonder la I see tower can regenerate Core items can also be deemed subjective. For instance, dagger is considered a core item on Puck, but some people prefer not to buy one. Personally, I define a core item as the bare minimum I need to be functional in a teamfight.is the enemy or our tower that will regenerate seems very useful oh,core items eh? it does feel bad when you haven't got your cores done during mid game |

Matchmaking rule of thumb for solo queues - if you win 2-3 in a row, the next game will be you alone with 4 people who can't play for nuts.

QUOTE(Tij @ Feb 19 2013, 12:26 PM) Are you sure 9/10? Don't generalize. Usually when I play solo pub the team is quite balanced (not more than 2 carries). Matchmaking got mood one. If you win like 10+ in a row, you'll see what I mean.Maybe it is because of your ranking/rating (Can check DBR in dotabuff). |

QUOTE(Tij @ Feb 19 2013, 03:20 PM) I know what you meant, my streaks stats on dotabuff are a joke after my highest losing streak of 8, suddenly I have a winning streak of 13, side by side at the game history LOL! Most attribute it to Valve enforcing a 50% win rate, but it's just coincidence. A win streak tells the system that you're ready to get bumped up a level. Sadly, the system's definition of up 1 level often includes placing you with less skilled players. Some black magic is involved in the matchmaking system during that time I guess. But now it's better as the games are quite balanced now...no more crazy random win/lose streaks for me anymore! |

QUOTE(wairai @ Feb 23 2013, 07:02 AM) Need a player manager to interfere with this kind of moves yo, kind of a superior force that said "cooperate or die" Not as easy as it sounds. The only thing holding players in check are their contracts, and e-sports remuneration isn't lucrative enough at the moment to warrant high buyout clauses. This will probably be less of an issue in the future. |

These days I win more solo queuing than I do playing with friends. Valve seems to have got the individual rankings right this time.
