It will be pretty fast..This device is too new, so the price is at its peak currently..Within the next two weeks or so, you should be able to get it for RM1499 supposedly..

I know that the voice recognition can be switched off from settings -> Lock screen..Not sure about the cover auto-on though..I don't use these features really..waste of battery

want to ask other user battery usage
mine today start at 7 quite heavy use today. no site work today, so mostly in office with heavy wechat + whatapps some time facebook n flipboard push mail for gmail n exchange server with wifi n sometime 3g... now left 50% |

for heavy usage, you still have 50%..That means you have twice the amount still..that's not bad if you ask me..I've been browsing, facebooking, and a little game here and there the whole day and I'm still standing at 57%..

Bluetooth is a known battery sucker..But well, with the amount of juice this note 8 carries, you will do just fine
