My Note 8.0 use original Samsung flip cover. No magnet anywhere. My S4 use SGP Crumena leather pouch. Also no magnet on it. But both casing can trigger the screen when we open it up.

My original Note 8.0 cover does have magnet. U can check buy moving a paper clip on the cover.

Duhh..never think of that.

Yes..the Samsung flip case did have magnet on the edge of its flip cover. But definitely not play any part on the screen auto on/off. Try fold the flip and the features still functioning.

Beside..my S4 Crumena leather pouch (with view) don't have any magnet on it. But the auto screen on/off works perfectly.

I shared this before, this guy confirmed the location of the magnetic wake/sleep sensor (in the upper left side, see photo in the link) and DIY a case with sleep/wake feature using a small magnet...

Yeah..it shows the auto screen on features is on the phone itself. Not because of the casing as my S4 casing have no magnet al all

I use an app called Auto Screen On Off working on proximity sensor, and it works fine regardless of whether the cover got magnet or not.

Hi guys. Just wondering if anyone has tried charging their device with a charger other than the one bundled with your note 3? I used my s3 original charger and it resulted in 16% charging after 1 hour. Not sure if others have had similar experiences with alternative chargers?

You can use S3 charger but it gonna be slow as S3 charger charge 1A only while Note 8.0 charger use 2A.
Note2...S4 chargers are more suitable as both also have 2A output.
Any good charger will do if it has atleast 1.5A output.

My Note 8.0 have a strange issue after the updates.
Some apps like to crash or cannot run.
Google+ randomly displaying 'Google+ has stopped.'
Wechat gives error also but solved by uninstalling and install back the app.
now candy Crush saga cannot run.

it seems like uninstalling and install back the app will solve this issue.
but...
for google+, we cannot uninstall it, is it? (i don't want to root)

for google+ you have to uninstall it on play store, and then update it again.

as long as it sync with facebook, suppose it will remain the same with your progress.

the updates downloads itself but until now I have yet to install it.

other than the original flip cover i think there are no other cover or casing that is more solid and better quality than the original one.

I like the Viva Matrid Sabio Flex Hexe case. Good quality and fully covering the tablet. cost almost the same with the samsung book cover. I didn't buy one because it didn't have the opening on the top for listening/receiving calls but regretted now coz i found out i wont answer calls with the tablet anyway
