Oh, my external is on its own.. Not the ones with power supply. I have an OTG cable, when connected, it can't read that HDD sweat.gif Oh well, I have 64GB SD card anyway.

There goes my chance of being malas to transfer the files brows.gif

Ya that'smyy question, can note 2 support that.
*
I suspect you can try with those dual connector USB cables where 1 plug is used for power boosting. Connect the data end into your OTG, and the power boost end into a power bank or notebook USB port. Of course having a notebook beside you defeats the purpose of enjoying the experience on your Note2 right? It all depends on the power draw of your USB hdd. Probably those that draw 0.42A can be used without external power. I've seen some that draw up to 0.8A.

Some people are technophobes. I'm not saying he is, but for the vast majority, they don't want to touch anything that needs more than clicking Next>Next>Next>Finish. Or better yet, no clicking needed, OTA magically does everything for you.

This N2 thread has got a nice community of civilised and highly knowledgeable participants who are willing to share their experiences. I like rclxms.gif

This Hyundai tablet should have been out last year and it would have been a really good alternative to all the Ainols and no-names.

Nevermind cikgu, you can keep your N2 and get N3 when it arrives. Twice the enjoyment.

Curious, what is the advantage of retaining old bootloader, or disadvantage with new bootloader?
*
New bootloader from DLL7 makes it harder to use Triangle Away, and the dev has not figured out how to crack it yet.

This the design of the new Note 8.0. they copy the design of s3 and note 2.

Yeah, I am so excited, I just bought a Samsung Galaxy Note 2 White..
May I know what is the best way to restore contacts, messages from my old S2 phone to my Note 2?
I am sure Titanium Backup cannot work here, since I have not rooted my Note 2 yet..
Thanks..
*
MyPhoneExplorer - get the apk and also the PC client. Backup and restore everything.

QUOTE(syNzoR @ Jan 24 2013, 10:40 PM)
I just briefly googled up fat32 and ntfs

From my understanding, fat32 is an older tech and supports lower capacitt and transfer file size. Ntfs is newer tech and supports bigger sized files.

Someone mentioned that my hard disk is ntfs and note 2 does not support.. How can I check this?

I've also googled up and saw that there are apps that can allow note 2 to read ntfs drives, but root access is required. Anyway to do so without rooting?
*
Er..fat32, IINM, is NEWER than NTFS. Don't let the marketspeak of "NewTechnology Filesystem" fool you.

However, NTFS was designed to be a workstation and server filesystem, thus supports journaling and large files (>4Gb) whereas fat32 is an extension of fat (or fat16) that allowed 32bit addressing up to 4gb. Early NTFS versions had a 2Tb file limit I think.

Most hard disks today if you are on XP at least with a >160Gb HDD are ntfs by default.

Note2 by default does not support NTFS. You need some kernel modules or a kernel that supports it. Haven't tried it myself though.

Note2 does support exfat, which supports files >4gb.

Ok I want to share what I found at xda today, this is for people that are having slow charging problem..

read this thread and use the app http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2112811

I am using GN2 charger with Xperia S cable and it gives me 1800mA output average.
*
Nice one. Are you using his app to monitor the incoming current? I use the Battery Monitor Widget pro readout, but when I actually look at it is during USB charging. I always plug my phone to charge overnight, so I never got the chance to look at the readout at the time.

Anyway, what I can see from the charging graphs is that I'm getting about 30% per hour, so I'm ok with it. Well, this another app to try and compare the readout.

Since the battery is quite lasting.. sometimes I still have over 30% battery left at night. Do you still charge it overnight? Will it affect the battery in the long run??

I've done this with every phone I've ever owned, never had bad battery effects except for the normal lifespan wear and tear. My batteries last at least 1 year.

Using the Nokia CA101 usb cable.

Thanks for this good finding..

Im getting 1800 avg on stock charger and cable

1400 avg on ipad 3 stock charger with samsung stock cable

Both has 1698 current now

Ipad charger dropped to 1100

Guess the hissing sound doesnt effect the charging current
*
The much vaunted fruit charger is also experiencing power fluctuation? I thought they would have tighter tolerances for cleaner power to their premium products.

This is the output from Battery Monitor Widget Pro.

I'm getting 30% per hour which is in line with most reports here saying approx 3, maybe 4hrs to full charge max.

With stock cable: avg 1800
With cheap powerbank cable: avg 1800 for few seconds then dropped to 600 constant

Hmm...time to throw away crappy cables now. I just tested with a cheapo "5000mAh" powerbank, with my Nokia cable, it gives 1698-1800 consistently. With some cable which I forget where it came from, I got ONLY 100mA !!! Damn....
