the only reliable news source currently circulating is that Arsenal may not be renewing their sponsorship with Nike and is linked to Adidas but there are no mentioned that such contract has been executed and stamped (ie. concluded)

where did you get your news from, mind posting the link?

It's not confirmed yet, my bad. The news is strong though so I wouldn't doubt that and there's been kit designs leaking out with Adidas logo. I think it's pretty much confirmed already, just Arsenal being reluctant to announce it, probably because it might draw more fire from the fans since they are not buying top quality players with the money.

i watched the game live and was falling asleep during the first half before Podolski pulled one back with a stunning goal to equalized but even after the equalizer, the game was pretty neutral for me to enjoy. i was expecting the game to draw but the 2nd half was crazy.

Arsenal was practically dominating the 2nd half and West Ham is nowhere to be found laugh.gif but i do think that West Ham was caught by surprise as they didn't expect that the pace will be brought to that speed and of course the players were thinking Arsenal is a no threat considering their poor streak of performance.

I personally do think that Arsenal could have scored at least another 2 goals if it wasn't for POTTS who had a very severe accident in the pitch and that event has brought down the pace of the game.

Did Theo score an offside goal?

That assist for Giroud was a fluke though, a very poor cross.

QUOTE(Angel of Deth @ Jan 28 2013, 07:52 PM)
Arsene Wenger did mention he's like an old school center forward. For me he's like a bit of Gerd Muller and bit of Oliver Bierhoff. Muller even at his peak was never a complete player. All he good at was scoring goals because of his shooting technique, heading, pace and power but never a dribbler or trickster. You fused all of those specialty with Bierhoff height and box striker instinct, you got Olivier Giroud. I didn't say his record is going to be prolific as these two legendary striker, i merely point that Giroud style is a hybrid of these two.

I never thought that Giroud's got good finishing. He has had many chances in the past to score, with the one in Chelsea the last one I remember but he couldn't convert those. I would even go as far as saying Walcott's finishing is better than Giroud at the moment because Giroud seems to opt for the easy, powerful and direct shot most of the time he gets a chance, rarely did you see him flick, dink or lob the ball over GK. His positioning is also a bit awkward at times and I'm not sure if that has to do with his terrible pace that has him outran by defenders all the time. His pace could also be the reason that he did not manage to use much techniques for shooting because he had to act fast and shoot before being caught up by players. Credits to him though for his goal against Brighton, it was a good shot.

I was more amazed by how much Theo has improved in his finishing. That volley for his third goal seems to be inch perfect even if there would be no deflection. He should learn how to position himself from Messi and get in position and make himself available to score goals and one day he could be a deadly CF. Rosicky was the revelation last year (not RvP as we knew his capability if he stay uninjured) and this year I'd say it's Walcott, good thing he has signed the contract now.

The problem with us is that we spent too much time at the back trying to defend and regain possession, that has led us to concede goals many times in the past, which is the exact reason why I critiqued Arteta. Despite having a high/highest passing rate in EPL, most of his passes were sideways or backward, which neither boost our attacking or solidify our defending.

The above could be the reason why we see our new delivery under-performing because the service is just not there for them to score when we just spend 99% of the time defending at the back.

QUOTE(Quick` @ Jan 29 2013, 03:59 PM)
we are talking about last season are we?
so does MU top the table with 8-10 pts lead over City and they threw it away towards the end

yup, likewise..we cant criticize any team period, its only after GW38 that counts

this season if my eyes are not lying it says GameWeek 23, so base on my calculation
we still have 38 - 23 = 15 games

my point is, instead of carrying the idea of "running out of luck or hailat no UCL mentality" in some of you,
have some faith instead. It wont go wrong
