Small world indeed. Mana tau you were there just now.

I got the Brickboy card since 2009, rarely use it since then because of the small discount and the high price at retail. Only this year only I had already used it 3 times, first for the Chima "Thundertank", then the Chima eagle jet and now for the Creator sets.

I think more like LLM is putting pressure on Lego & ALJ  after all the super dooper complaints it received on tripadvisor and its FB page. You see the TRU page also lots and lots of complaints. Then of course the grey market of Lego which is gaining steam due to the high prices plus competition from Kreo, Star Diamond, Sluban etc.

Bro, if you do build the 31006 Highway Speeder set. Do let me know if you can fit 1 or 2 minifigs in and take a pic. Wanna see if it's in scale (not too big for the figs).

Thanks.

My Bruce Wayne is still shopping for his car tongue.gif

Hands started itching after watching "The Dark Knight Rises" (again!) on Blu-ray.

Opened up a couple of boxes my LEGOs. Have not attached stickers yet.

This set will go well with set 10937 - The Arkham Asylum Breakout! The holding cell ready for Mr. Freeze.

Definitely on my wishlist - although I'm more focused on "movie" themed sets for Batman (for now).

currently theres onli 1 movie theme batman set izzit?  hmm.gif

*
Yeah - 10937 very expensive.

So far, 76001 is the only (new) movie themed set with TDK suit. I think the 2008 series had 3 or 4 sets, all with TDK suit printing on the minifig.

However, if you look at the other 2012 sets, they "can" be consider movie related.
A) 6864 Batmobile: Two Face Chase - Batman Forever, The Dark Knight (Villain - Two Face)
B) 6863 Batwing: Battle Over Gotham City - Batman, The Dark Knight (Villain - Joker)
C) 6860 Batcave - Batman & Robin (Villains - Bane, Poison Ivy). Batcave also appears in all the movies (except TDK, I think)
D) 6858 Catwoman Catcycle City Chase - Batman Returns, The Dark Knight Rises ("Villain" - Catwoman)

if am not wrong lego batman asylum is from the game right?
*
Yes, there is a "Batman: Arkham Asylum" game, and the sequel was "Batman: Arkham City". I guess I will correct my earlier post and say that the sets are "inspired by" and not "based on" the movies. "Arkham Asylum" (the game) if I remember correctly did not have anyone "breaking out". However, Joker's master plan was to get himself captured and to be brought back to Arkham Asylum....... and the rest, you just have to play the game. Or Wiki it.

Harley Quinn (or Dr. Harleen Quinzel) - one of the minifigs from the Arkham Breakout set however, is from the cartoon and comics.

Just noticed that the figures have flesh coloured heads. Don't know if this is only for licensed themes or only Superheroes? Haven't really noticed before.

Also noticed that there was no weapons for Batman in the 76001 set (The Bat Vs Tumbler Chase). Lucky the 6858 set has an extra one.

me still thinking whether wanna buy the  the bat vs tumbler chase or not...
thinking of MOC my own tumbler... but the minifig is quite awesome

Yeah, I considered building my own Tumbler too when I heard this version is small. I guess LEGO heard the complaints of the original one being too big and used a "shrinking" machine but guess they cranked it a little too long and made it too small! Hopefully I have the resources for a scaled Tumbler that sits 2 minifigs.

And yes, I suppose this is the only cost effective way to get the figures. Since I'm a BatFan (especially Christopher Nolan's trilogy) and I missed out on the original Tumbler, this was a must get for me.

Just got back from Sunway Pyramid and this is the first time I spotted this at any TRU.

They have actually labelled the minifigures with numbers! Only 3 packets left though - 1, 4, 15 (think 1 is the Robot)

Saw the imitation Super Heroes sets - 2-in-1 for RM 20. Didn't manage to take a photo though. Very tempted.

I also bought the imitation "Ninjago" from a kiosk near the TRU. Curious to know how the quality is like.

I was digging through some old photos and found these.

Back in July 2012, I was in UK. I was on holiday and Windsor was one of my stops. Had to take photo of the castles. Missed out on going to LEGOLAND Windsor though. Went to one of the shops, Daniel, just to survey prices. At that time, I already booked tickets to LEGOLAND Malaysia in October 2012 so it didn't occur to me to buy anything. I would have had trouble carrying it back too.

I don't think there were sales at that time, so these prices are the RRP.

So I finally had a little time to open up my BELA Ninja - Set 9739 and here's a quick comparison pic.

user posted image

Notice how the thick, bushy eyebrows show through the Batman cowl.

As what bro heng84 said a few posts earlier, it is nowhere close to the original (obviously!)

Here's the lowdown on what's wrong with it.

THE CONS:
a) First glaring mistake - the package (card and even the instruction sheet) shows black hands but the minifig comes with white hands! What ninja wears white gloves??? This ain't Michael Jackson yo!
b) Minifig joints too tight. Hard to move
c) Ninja headpiece loose, comes off easily
d) Bricks don't click in place, comes apart easily
e) Crap - I paid RM 13 for mine and saw that bro heng84 got it for only RM 9.90

THE PROS:
a) Ermm ....... can't think of any yet.
b) OK - how about, the instruction manual shows the other sets in the series

I'll leave you with a parting message from Batman.......

Oops, CTRL + V issue. Copy paste but didn't change the amount.

The Batcave was GBP 69.99 (as can be seen on the price tag)

Back from AEON 1U and saw some of those 3 in 1 sets like the Eagle, the white Roadster (which I almost picked up!) etc. Think there's a 10% discount.

Didn't come home empty handed, got a couple of cases from DAISO but I think it's not enough! Thinking of having heroes and villains in separate cases.
