Hello there,

I've been eyeing for a long time to get a Kawasaki Ninja 250, especially the newly released one. Recently I just got my rider's license. I already have been driving cars for many years, but recently I taught of getting a bike to enjoy a more raw experience of travelling. The thing is that i'm hesitating about certain aspects about owning a bike, because from what I can tell, travelling on a bike is very much different from driving a car... I'm afraid that i'll just be wasting my money and getting a bad debt... so, anyone who had a similar wish or experience, hope you can share...

Just to note, I am well aware of the dangers and risk of riding a bike... just want to know if its worth to get the bike (2013 Ninja 300.)

Are you a real man? If yes, proceed with Ninja 250 2013.

Money wont bother you much if you talk about life.

Its what you done in your life. Experience is very important.
I bet the day we die still have so much money left if we dont know how to enjoy it. Just make sure you work for it. (Make sure you dont bankrupt because of this)

If you worry about riding a bike, then just take it out during weekend only thumbup.gif

we only get the 250 version. Only in US and AUS are getting the 300 version.

riding is fun, especially when the traffic is badly jammed. You can split lanes to get through. Saves time and money. Id recommend on riding to work, you'll save time and money and also, reduce the CO2 emissions. Just beware of cagers (term used for person driving cars/trucks/suvs), be sure not to be in their blind spot. Cause some idiots are just too stupid to use the side/rear view mirrors.

Just talk to a veteran rider. It's a great thing to have but make sure you know everything there is to know (all them "hidden costs" and annoyance). I mean, I doubt owning a 25k bike would be remotely the same as owning a 25k car. It's a great way to save on petrol though, and look cool and travel fast at the same time. tongue.gif

Well, how often I use the bike depends on my skills and courage of actually riding it... because of the fact I haven't rode properly and am quite a newbie i'm still can't say much about it yet, but whenever I go on long journeys and see big bikes pass me, I do feel like doing the same one day. In any case, if all goes well I'll be using the bike quite often, including going to work, finding friends and the occasional trips...

Got another thing I would like to know, is the Ninja 250 a targeted bike to be stolen? what are (extra) the steps to avoid it being stolen?

If that's the cases, i guess you'll be using the bike on weekend, building your confidence and skill. KL traffic jam getting even worse nowadays especially in weekdays morning trip, very challenging for beginner even if he use a kapchai. Big bike? Double the thrill....

IINM la...there is actually a hot spot area at Shah Alam, quite a number of cases of sports bikes being broken or stolen....
I don't know about the legitimacy of that report, but there are a lot of nice bikes there, around the area where UiTM is.

In any case, if I have that nice bike, I wouldn't leave it outside near the streets if I can't keep my eyes on it, or if the streets are empty. I mean, it's a bike, it's not something 3 men can't lift on a truck and carry away. laugh.gif

I did look around at this bike, but from reviews and comments i've heard that it has quality issues and high vibration on highway speeds... any owner care to comment?

Oh yes, seeing that this ninja is a detuned version, so I take it that it uses the new 300cc engine rather than just having a new body with the old 250cc engine right... means we can re-tune it to get back the original 300cc power that it was supposed to have..?

apart from the jacket and helmet, what would be must buys with a new bike? hehe

quality issue is only for 2007 and before...after that Naza seems keep the quality ok and not bad at all....vibration??V-Twin is like that bro...

AFAIK, the new version of Blade seems getting the new ECU...many said the HP and performance is more better...furthermore, there is the new Blade c/w Two Brothers Exhaust system...superbbbbb..

got my friend own this Blade and until now he is very satisfied...also riding position for Blade is kinda Sport type...means you feel like you go for race...

re-tune 250cc to 300cc??is not that simple...you have to RE-BORE/Modified the engine...re-tune is just getting the HP jump a bit..not too much....

Ninja 250 is still the 250cc engine...2 IN-LINE....

like i tell you...test ride for both machine..and you decide which one is better..

based on the not new ninja 250r

normal service every 4~5k km
2x 1liter eo + oil filter = rm100++

stock air filter change new every 10~15k km...price not sure, but cheap
can also use washable air filter like k&n, jfc, dna, bmc brands..last forever

normal spark plug change every 15~20k km
or iridium plug last 60~100k km rm40~50 a piece

rm20 ron95 can last 240~280km, 2013 should save fuel more, expect 270 ~ 300km

but i heard the waiting list for the new ninja 13 is long whistling.gif

if can topup, better take er-6f/n rm38k or z800 rm49k drool.gif coz 250r not fast enough top 170kmh only, few months bored edy laugh.gif

whoahh.....increase CC is not something just RE-TUNE...the displacement is all the matters....

the new Ninja300 are VISUALLY THE SAME with Ninja250 in term of look...but the engine is different and for elsewhere market...not for Malaysia for time being...

you can RE-TUNE the engine HP a bit by tuning the ECU, but it will only boost a bit of...

Ninja for me is a good choice coz of the brand, the CC...

again, Test Ride and make your choice

Hye there!
In order to get a nice bike would be much easier if u can feel it self.
Yeah, u can try to ask opinion and also exp from other. But its different.
Different person, different type, different perspective, different style.
One can be more to Fuel Saving.
One can be Speedster
One can be comfort on cruising
One can be nasty rider kaw2x.

Hye there, i'm travelling from my home to my office. About 120KM everyday.
From Gombak to Semenyih.
Using LC135
Sometime big bike can be the worst bike, some time can be the best bike.
Depend on the traffic.
But already meet one rider, using KTM 690 2010.
Speeding and "selit2x" at MRR2, around 130-140 kmh during peak hours. Morning and also Evening.
So gilaaaa.... rclxub.gif

a question just popped into my mind as i day dream of getting the ninja... what do real owners of such bikes really do with their machine? Use it to work every day, keep it for the odd weekend ride? I mean... sometimes the reasons that we give ourselves so that we buy our 'toys' are never implemented when we finally bought it LOL..
