With excise & import duties waived and  at rm149500 , 2 airbags, fabric seats, optional multimedia navigator this squarish van is way overpriced. Can't wait to see more competition to bring it 'down to size' to reflect its true value.
*
I think only import duties are waived. not Excise duties. In malaysia all car have to pay Excise duties unless ur at langkawi or labuan.

Anyone received any additional discount for this Serena other than those advertised officially (2.38% loan, navigation/reverse camera unit, free service 3 times, free PA)?
*
i try to ask addition discount but fail. i only get a full tank and full car carpet.

At least TCM gives customer choice to have few spec to choose. I think a lot customer willing to pay more with those higher spec gadgets.

The spec TCM import in should the most lowest spec available.
*
I think TCM try to keep the price as low as possible. The only way to do it strip off some of the stuff. I read an article explaining bout why our car price so expensive.

This is also what I suspected, but when I asked such q in their FB page, they told me it is the "original" cbu from jp.
[attachmentid=3561541]
*
is that means the Hong Kong and Indonesia version is not CBU from Japan???

Yes bro. Am interested. Have test driven but didn't have a chance for idling or Eco test. Can you switch off Eco when the car is idling? That means you get air when you're waiting for someone or stop by at petrol station?
*
Eco mode can be switch on and off. there is a dedicated button. I try that on test drive. of cause switch off eco mode you will feel more power because the gear will be in high eg around 2.7k rpm with eco mode 2.2k rpm

The Serena is sharing the same platform with NV200 is because they want to keep the cost down, just like VW, almost all the car is sharing the same platform, then will you say "I paid 300K of price, I don't want this car got share any platform with Polo or Golf or Jetta..."

As for sonyman case, I don't know how you see the Alphard, yes maybe it is bigger, but doesn't the Alphard look more like a bigger van when you said the Serena is look like a van, but anywhere you got your own choice, for me I won't buy any re-cond car anymore after the bad experience with my previous Estima. This car only last less than 2 years time with me and I have spent more than RM30k just for repair, keep giving me problem non-stop every couple of months, new spare parts availability also very limited and the worse part is very hard to find a knowledgeable workshop to repair this kind of re-cond car, even if you found one, they will really charge you the like Mercedes, BMW kind of price! Sonyman, if can find a van with proper local distributor with warranty, if not you will really regret, unless you really can find a problem-free re-cond Estima or Alphard, then go ahead.

Hi Frank,

Fuel consumption looks good so far based on my JB trip.
So far, i have pumped another few times but never really reset and calculate it.. blush.gif
I want to leave it for at least another couple 2-3k km as advise from my fren to be more accurate.
New engine need some km's to have a "run in". ( i still dont get the terms vmad.gif )

As for Remote down, can i assume you are asking that while driving, can i open my sliding door? I never try that but i did remember asking the SA and he mentioned that it cant be done while engine is running. ( come to think of it, i should try later LOLz)

You order and waiting for your new ride Frank?

so far anybody achieve tye 15.2km/l fuel consumption as stated by nissan?
*
Pls check post#202, Mr.barrywcb already post the usage and yes its 0.15 sen per km. below is his post!!

Hi Frank / wjrider,

Hope this info is useful for your reference.

Mileages done so far = 1861 km.
Petrol = RM82.00 ( estimate combination of H/Way 40% / town driving 60% )
Mileages = 538
Est Per KM = +/- 0.15

I think is better than my previous H/ Accord. nod.gif

P/s: tried driving and open back door at the same time, didnt work ( i suppose it should be that way, a little jakun attempting to open it for safety purposes blush.gif ) lolz.

Hi Frank, when did you place your booking?
*
1 day after its official launching day. actually i collected my car 2 day ago. They say they replace the door motor unit as a precaution. The motor might be faulty. overall i am happy with the car. just 2 day of driving nothing much to update here. already clock 140KM city driving.

Does anyone know where to get the door airpress cheaper than getting from Tan Chong?

could some of the lucky owners who had receive the car let us know how the carpeting is like?  Maybe take some pix.
*
Car carpet? got it free from my salesmen. I just give him the configuration and he ask a accessories shop to cut
it to spec.
