Sure but EC6 blood red looks pretty dark, any samples in a watercooling loop? I am thinking of something like mayhems pastel, much brighter red but not so sure yet laugh.gif

Haha. I've got pastels too. smile.gif

Anyway, EC6 sample:

My rig is sort of done, been playing games on it for quite sometime. So today I decided to touch it up since I left it at 95% completion state?

So when I was making custom led cables for all my leds I decided to drain the loop as it turned to purple colour. This time I bought a ph meter to test the coolant on why it is keep changing colour. Sorry for crappy images, will take better pictures with my nexus 5 when I free tongue.gif

user posted image

Look at the coolant, what the shit is this! I seriously dont know why it keep changing from red to purple doh.gif
user posted image

So the ph meter is a bit off, had to calibrate it
user posted image

Calibrating the ph meter..
user posted image

This is the value of distilled water, its a little off. Need to do a 2nd calibration...
user posted image

So I tested the coolant that is in my loop, dafuq is this shit. Why is the ph value so high? I was expecting it to be acidic since I read a post mayhem said that if the coolant is acidic & we didnt bleed the loop properly then copper oxidation can occur in the radiator & thus changing the coolant colour. I am no chemist, can someone give me an explanation or perhaps a theory on why this is happening?

Done filling her up again. This time I added little red dye compare to what I did before, I hope if it turn darker it wont affect that much. Well at least I hope so...
user posted image

This is the reading when I added dye into distilled water.

When I add 1 drop of biocide into 1 cup of water, the ph drops a lot. I know I am supposed to use 1 drop per liter, I am just testing what is the possible cause of my problem. Distilled water alone & with dye has almost no difference so only possible cause now is mayhems biocide.

My measurement is right, 1 drop of biocide in 1 liter of water. Thats what is in my loop atm, nothing more nothing less. No silver coil etc either. Its been 1 day, colour is still good & I tried my best to bleed it (it was a tough job since I have 2 RX radiators). The coolant ph value that is in my loop atm is around 6.3. I thought mayhems said his dye would stabilize the ph value but that isnt the case I see. This would probably be my last try, if it still changes colour then I give up. The next time I do maintenance I will get a premix coolant instead.

Another issue I have is my sata cables is too short lol, ordered some extension. Need to wait for it to arrive to touch up & send my rig to apes for some photo session tongue.gif

I am still deciding to mod the SSD or not, what I can do is rotate the ssd board upside down to show the chip I guess but this will require some cutting to the ssd casing. Still not sure to go for that route or not hmm.gif

Decided to do some cleaning for my rig & finally manage to mount the SSD in the proper place. Rig was pretty much done for quite some time, just recently did some tiny touch up for the ssd. pristine I might need to borrow your holesaw again to make another hole for a fillport laugh.gif

What washer? You mean the coil there? I just pop the fan blades & clean the radiator. Once done, just pop it back in...

Oh no, corsair fans are using magnets. Just pull the blades with a bit of force & it will come out automatically.

Yeah, some of the fans might require more force to remove. Just make sure you hold the back for those that are harder to remove.
