Thanks for the reply, and yup, I pretty much get where you're coming from mate. I've been fiddling around with my friend's 920 for about half a day, and I can say, I am pretty much impressed by what it offers. As for the stability of the OS and the pros and cons, I'm just hoping the updates will take care of that, because according to my friend, he's been using his device since the first launch, and has never experienced any problems apart from having a brief period where it took him about 10-20 mins to upload a photo to FB when he was on full 3G signal or wifi. Its already alright now though. Crossing my fingers and hope I don't get a lemon, that's all. I also like the way it looks and feels in my palm, which is just nice considering I have quite a wide palm  laugh.gif

I'm a very simple user who doesn't need tonnes of apps on the go as my working environment would keep me disconnected from the world at most times anyway. The fact that the 920 has the basic necessities such as whatsapp, nokia maps/drive and a good low light camera just ticks all my boxes. The UI is of course something refreshing, and I'm sure the after sales support is pretty good, no? But if I had to be really honest, I'll say its the camera that got me hooked.. tongue.gif

I do have an Ipad 3 if I wanna play games and what not, or wanna download different apps that are still not available to W8. Plus, if I ever need an android device, I can always get a secondhand HTC OneX+ or Butterfly or something sometime in the future  wink.gif

Haha, alright, cool. I was thinking of just getting the phone and signing to Maxis for a postpaid plan, but from what I've been reading on forums, once you hit your data limit, you will be charged extra for data usage instead of being throttled like Digi right? That scares me, because I do travel very frequently, and I'm worried that in case I forget and use the data while roaming, I'm gonna end up with a huge bill from Maxis. sweat.gif

What I'm planning to do is to change my current hotlink number to Digi postpaid, and just get another hotlink simcard as I know Maxis coverage is better, and so is its roaming.

Anyone else got any other suggestions?  icon_rolleyes.gif

Given your situation you have a few choices :

1. Sign up a Postpaid plan with DiGi which entitles you to get the 920 at packaged price. However, they only have Black and White colours.
2. Get the phone form independent source. Sign up a Maxis promotional data plan, if you feel Maxis' coverage is better. Now, they practise fair usage for subscriptions of 1gb and above.
3. Do what you mentioned per your last statement.

Can micro sim be used on phones that have normal sim slot?
*
Yes but you must use a SIM card adapter.

After cutting my normal sim into micro sim, the remaining "frame" i keep it. I tried pushing the micro sim into the frame that was cut out, then put the whole sim card into other phones that use normal sim, and it still works.  icon_idea.gif

Yes, you can do that too. Sometimes it is better than using an adapter.

Hi all. I am really keen on getting Nokia Lumia 920 now that Maxis has a package for it. Time to upgrade my good old Nokia E66 and get a plan to go along with it.

Read at another thread that the battery life dies very fast for no apparent reason. Is it true or is it that guy got a bad unit? How's the battery life btw?
*
Not trying to influence you either way but I strongly suggest you read the relevant threads in order to make an informed decision.

If this is not one of the relevant threads then which is? Anyway I'm still gonna probably jump on the lumia bandwagon and crossing fingers that it does not have problems as those discussed here.

What's your beef? Did I say this is not?! But in case you are oblivious, there are others as well. Of course you can buy any gadget you want. It's your money after all.

Let's just see what kind of posts you put up later after committing.

ok all the best. if your theory is correct, you will be quite famous.  brows.gif

take a chill pill ok. he was just asking. no need for exclamation marks and all.

You baffle me! What's wrong with using exclamation marks? By posting is already exclaiming, just like you are. It is just that I know how to use them.

nothing wrong, just that exclamation marks can also mean that you are yelling to the other person.

Please do not have a one track mind. Suggest you look up the dictionary for the definitions.

I reiterate, you baffle me. Why then did post your initial reply? And if I have a one track mind like you, I would say the emoticons/emojis you use have more adverse connotations than exclamation marks.

I like ribs thank you.

See simple answer to a simple question. But then again u have to add on insinuations and probably troll on my posts for awhile.
Thanks bro. Didn't know asking such a question could tick a person off. Least I could get was a link to another forum / thread where u guys probably look at as well to get more info (since I was redirected to here in the first place).

Ok not gonna check in here anymore coz maxis have not brought in the red lumia 920 yet. Hope MS solves the battery issues I've read cropping up here with their next update.

Beef is not only referenced to the edible kind. And, look, for starters, I was trying to help you. Apparently you are beyond that so I will just leave it to your own devices and see what comes out of it.
