Goto more local fish shop like 88 petsmart in cheras or sunwaymas & Fish depot in sunwaymas , east aqua in sg.besi , ikano , mid-valley , NPA in cheras , NA in subang SS19,
all of them sell standalone fish tank, cube tank size 30cmx30cmx30cm may suit you with 27L water or opt for bigger like dophlin brand got one
55cmx34cmx34cm - 57L tank, cost around rm70++.
You can also go look for tank in Alive aquarium in pudu or their new outlet near leisure mall(cheras), they sell at cheaper price(can bargain somemore).
You already bought light and filter if not i recommend you to get Eheim tank set at RM300++ (with eheim filter, light and tank)(can find at Alive aquarium in pudu).

if you get male & female guppies, it'll get overcrowded in the end anyway. they breed like mad, just like the other live bearers..
google about tetras, danios & cherry barbs, they're kinda cute

I totally agree with what you say but I do have 2 questions.

1. Why not curved tank? I know their lighting all its not that good but I was wondering bout the curve edges vs normal edges.
2. How did you plant your HC until it grew so well? I using amazonia and n too loose my HC so hard to root.

Just got back from Alive Aquarium in Jalan Pudu. Damn nice place with a lot to see Here's what I found:

1) I saw a super cheap 30-40L (maybe) aquarium for like RM23? But the corners are sealed with black silicone or something. Should be similar to what varialmctwist mentioned earlier on. Cold|Drawn might want to take note

I also saw a 45X30X30 (cm) 30L Dolphin aquarium for RM65. Haven't asked the boss if there's any discount yet. I'm guessing maybe can get for like RM55-60 maybe

2) Was a bit suprised that the price of a Cardinal Tetra was RM2.50 each. I thought it's much much cheaper Neon Tetras were going for RM1.20 each

I saw some cheaper ones like the Zebra fish, the golden, red and the zebra tetra looks nice Will research about these fish tonight

3) The Ammonia, Nitrite, Nitrate, PH test kits from API were going for like RM30-35 each. 3 of them to make a complete set would be close to RM100 wow. And I also saw a Master kit set



Wanna ask, any much cheaper alternative? I can just get test kits for PH, Ammonia and nitrites only right? Exclude nitrates?

4) arrow I saw the filter wools which you mentioned, stupid question here. How to replace the wool on the Jeneca filter cartridge? Stick to the cartridge using something adhesive?

6) run filter, fan 24hrs. lighting, co2 system as per schedule, about 4 hours during the initial week, increase lighting and co2 period for an extra hour subsequently during the next 3 weeks or so, being 7-8 hours the max photoperiod for your tank.

7) let your tank cycle completely first. previous, i think arrow has posted a few links about tank cycling... this is so so so so IMPORTANT!

i always buy otto from SS19 NA. rm4.50 never one failed on me.. all healthy..
the only one that didnt make it is because it got eaten by my crayfish last time. lol

I bought a Golden Algae Eater.
Than next day I bought a Chinese Algae Eater.

In the end I took back a Chinese loach from my gf's aquarium lol~~~

All very hardworking in cleaning algae.
My tank got 9 Neon Tetra but 1 died today.
2 Cherry Barbs
4 X-ray Tetra
and 2 Zebra Danio.

Hehe... I wanted Cardinal Tetra but can't find in a lot LFS.
The one I know got sell not yet open yet.

I will upload my tank photo once the plants starts to grow more.
Still to little now.
