after mine hang, the usb modem is not recognizable, and no matter how many time reboot still same,  sad.gif

so i flash back to tplink stock firmware for my mr3040 V1,..as mine is actually tl-mr11uV2,.. but i hate the chinese web interfaces,,,

well guess the openwrt black widow & huntsman not suitable for long hour,..

at the moments guess openwrt altitude adjustment is the best choice still for long hour  sweat.gif
*
i think its the same HW.. just named differently for the chinese market..

let me compile AA n trunk images again for u guys.. standard ppp connect only..

p/s: anyone need ipv6? if not i'm removing it from the package..

"bypass 25Mbps limitation of PPP dialing method"...that means what...? My QOS only 8460....even used E372
*
meaning if ur qos is at 42000 its possible to get speed in the high 30mbps region..

ppp dialing has lots of overhead..

if u r currently using ppp n speed averaging around 4-5 mbps.. with qmi its possible to get close to 6-7 mbps..

is also depends on what modem u  use right ? not all modem support PPP-QMI correct ? hmm.gif

if in this case, then i guess original stock firmware can bypass 25Mbps speed limit ?  hmm.gif
*
qmi is a protocol used by new huawei zte modems..if the dashboard allows ndis connection type, it supports qmi.. i think no modem that supports HPSA+ dont have qmi support.. different companies use different naming.. sierra wireless uses usb-to-wwan if i'm not mistaken..

older modems supporting 7.2Mbps largely comes with standard RAS connection type i think..

p/s qmi is Qualcomm MSM Interface..

then i guess it mostly apply to Qualcomm chipset made modem right ?  hmm.gif
*
like i said, qmi is for qualcomm chipset..

i dont know any other chipset that for usb modems..

for tablets i think nvidia uses icera for their baseband..
broadcom makes 3g radios also..

there are a lot of manufacturers for 3g chips..
so, diff companies, diff names..

Qualcomm is the industrial leader

Mediatek make some 3G chip for China tablet
Intel make 3G chip as well.

Anyway, this is for consumer hardware, there's still many brand for industrial  laugh.gif

thats the purpose of Dairyman's ROOter project...

see ur IPv4 WAN connection type.. if its wwan then its already using qmi..

*applicable to supported modems only..

Ok guys.. i compiled a normal version of OpenWrt.
Both the Attitude Adjustment 12.09 and Barrier Breaker based on the r36349 source.
both images include needed package to run 3g modems using ppp.

MAKE SURE TO CHANGE THE MODEM DEVICE ON THE 3G-WAN INTERFACE PAGE TO YOUR PROPER DEVICE

PLEASE COMPARE THE MD5 HASH OF THE DOWNLOADED FILES WITH PROVIDED md5sums TO MAKE SURE YOUR DOWNLOADED BIN FILES IS NOT CORRUPTED

as i only have MR3420 and MR3020, i can only test on these two devices.. please give feedback for other models.. i didn't compile images for V2 router as i dont know if it is supported directly or if patches is needed in trunk..

The later Black Widow and Huntsman builds have introduced instability for some modems.

We are currently working back through the ROOter additions to isolate the problem(s).

Your testing has been invaluable as it identified the modem instability and the keep alive function failure which had not beenreported elsewhere.  rclxms.gif

... Back with an update when there is more news.

Cheers

ZTE MF680 is also experiencing this..

or is it limited to our telco?

as it seems to coincide with the kick-out period of our telco..
