QUOTE(Orcamaniac @ Mar 20 2006, 02:39 PM) the joyness of having ip 218 wont last longer... u are totally wrong...i got 220ms when pinging 2 yahoo at morning but, afternoon my latency increased to 305ms which same as having ip 219 probably tmnet did evenly distribute 219 and 218 there is big diff between 218 n 219 the see pic below.... the avr pk loss for 219 is higher n ping for 219 will up n down... durin the peak hours |

First of all , I am not sure if this thing is legal or not. Secondly , this thing does not work , if you're behind a router [or a NAT..Unless your NAT runs Windows {Well , most NATs , they are on Linux , like your Routers/Wireless Routers} ] .
The script is pretty simple , it uses XP Dialer to dial to streamyx via your ADSL Modem . Then it checks if the IP matches 218.208 or not [Notice : It should include 218.111 IPs as well , since those IPs are are within the range] (You could just replace 218.111 with 218.208 , in fact you can change with any IP Addy you like) Hammering the B-RAS is not a good idea Either...So again..Just dont blame anyone , if TMNET ever finds out about this |

QUOTE(Suk @ Mar 20 2006, 08:01 PM) u are totally wrong... Do you even know what it is that you're pinging? You don't.there is big diff between 218 n 219 the see pic below.... the avr pk loss for 219 is higher n ping for 219 will up n down... durin the peak hours From what I see, it probably is from the pool of customer IP addresses. You can't draw packet loss conclusions from that just - because it just might be that no one is connected at that IP or they have their firewalls blocking it. Please don't mislead the forumers here. |

I saw this script was around sometimes, are you sure it is written by your friend? One of the source is from ahem dota server.
According to what I heard, you connect fast with IP 218 or 219 because it is direct connection. IP start with 60 usually need to bypass TMnet transparent proxy(TMnet wants to save cost), that's why it is slow. It is nothing with legal or not legal, just like it helps you to manually click Connect To -> Ok -> Cancel... It doesn't work for router dialing, router is either auto-dialing, or cannot embed script. As thread starter said, use bridge, simple. This post has been edited by engtat: Mar 22 2006, 06:05 PM |

This script was featured over at a *Ahem* Malaysian DotA server by the admin for quite a while already, since the 14th of November last year. Infact, the line of code stated in by the OP is exactly the same as it.
I've recently been utilizing this script to get a 218.XX IP for Guild Wars (Its damn laggy with 219, lotsa rubber-banding. With 218 its lovely). Getting 218.11 is near impossible for me but a 218 can be achieved within a few minutes. Its very very useful. Heck I think it'll even help with the delay lag for other online games like WoW. Edit : This shouldn't be illegal in anyway. You're just basically reconnecting till you have achieved that elusive 218 IP. Its the same as if you had a router and were repeatedly turning it on and off. I was doing that with my Wireless before I got this script lol.
