Just bought 3 kg of chicken keel (all meat no bones) at Giant for RM 9.99 per kg (usually at RM 12.90). At wet market chicken breast (with bone and neck) cost for RM 10.50. So, it is a deal for me

Just edited the Bluebay Tuna Nutrition info and price. Well, you have to buy the best bang for then buck. Buy branded one, then you eat the brand tongue.gif

How is the price of milk there in the Peninsular? The price here is about RM4.85 a litre.

Because I'll be staying there if I continue to uni, so it will be a good info.

Tesco is generally the place to go for lowest price on groceries, but I tend to browse other supermarkets in case of offers or promotions.

Like in Econsave where I usually buy those Ayamas 1kg / 800g Spicy Chicken for around RM12. Today at Econsave got RM8 per package so I buy two biggrin.gif

Do you know how much carbs content for that 1 loaf of bread? 52g carbs for 2 slices of bread. Imagine just to consume 40g of protein, you had to consume a lot of carbs (47g carb for 9 g protein = 235g carb for 45g protein).

It's cheap but macronutrition wise, nope.

since this thread is about value and price. im just putting it up there as cheap source protein and calories.. im always looking for calorie dense food cause its easier to bulk on those. its an alternative to oats..oats are cheap and have higher protein. but im tired of oats. and bread is not so hard to eat.. eat with tuna...eat with peanut butter..smoke salmon.. raisins and banana..for taste and extra protein.

white rice is high GI..and low protein.

hmm.gif True true~ I am just not a sandwich person so the idea of eating so much bread is meh. Occasionally peanut butter toast is the bomb though drool.gif

Breads are high HI too~ Plus they tend to contain alot of ingredients (preservatives, etc) so for my own personal choice I prefer rice.

Mind you I prefer a relatively high protein/high fat diet so I have to limit the amount of non-veg/fruit carbs I eat and am obviously bias. wink.gif If all that bread fits your macros and you love it, then go at it! It certainly is affordable thumbup.gif

I dont use milk with oats - dun like. I use water but I blend in berries or bananas or raisins when I crave oats. Mmmmm yummy~

Berries in Malaysia so expensive tho cry.gif So don't eat so often here. More rice in my diet than I should consume whenever back in KL sweat.gif
