I guess I better open my wallet then and order one, only problem I can even think of is no backlit keyboard on the smaller model wink.gif

Whats the battery life when doing tiny tasks like office/web etc and then battery life when gaming or watching a film, I think those are the last questions I need to know about wink.gif
*
I get about 3 hours just using it for office work and web while streaming music. Gaming on the other hand just drains it in like an hour and a half or so.

I think that's about right.
Anitelu, remember this is not an ultrabook laugh.gif
If you want to improve battery performance, the easiest is to opt for SSD instead of HDD. This will help a lot in all those disc activity intensive apps. If you decide to stay with HDD, 7200 rpm drain more power compared with 5400 rpm HDD.
Anyway, quite an upgrade from your Samsung N130 biggrin.gif

Oh yeah fully aware its not an ultra book, tho atm I do alot of my work on my mac mini desktop that I travelled with me, but its a pain to do that, so want to combine the productivity of using my adobe stuff and be able to have a laptop since my N130 died, and for the price this seems like a very good option. I would love to get a SSD in it, but I just dont think I can afford it at the moment. I guess i could go for the 128 GB SSD option and just get the i5 version, but I know very little bout this new SSD technology...

if programming / rendering is not very important to u, just get the i5, use less power and ssd. i dont know ssd prolong the battery for how many hours/minutes. haha

When you guys saying Rendering Im guessing your talking maya and stuff right? I mainly just use photoshop, dreamworks, and some primere pro for editing stuff, Im looking at getting a ssd for the OS and a 500 gb inside for storage + my own external should work quite nicely smile.gif

I remember I read somewhere, some MBP users test 5400 rpm HDD vs SSD. Battery performance was about 4.5hr vs 6 hr.
Don't expect this much from Illegear, but I think 30-45 min is reasonable expectation.

I think a 128G SSD for OS, apps, and video files that you are working on. Then 2TB external HDD should be ample biggrin.gif
Anyway, looking at illegear site, it is charging RM599 extra to replace the 500G HDD to 256G Crucial M4 SSD. That is very reasonable thumbup.gif

those that have theirs already hows it handle overheating and such, I want to hear a few more postive reviews before I place my order for one, but the size, weight and the power packed into one of these, definitely has me very close to ordering one wink.gif

The R-11's cooling system is actually quite nice although there is only one air vent servicing both CPU & GPU.

hmmm, last time i wanted to get the illegear rx17...but had a bad experience talking with the online chat which turn down my mood of buying it. The whole websites are quite confusing. When they meant free western digital hdd, it should be free. Not like a free upgrade or wat. I adviced them to change but they replied quite impatient. So end up i lost confidence on their service and did not buy the rx 17.

feel bad for this but i believe most business minded peoples never do a 'buy this free 1' promotion, especially in computer products. they will only allow FREE upgrades. also, illegear's site is not confusing at all.

It is confusing...They lack of HCI which is not a good idea for the website..."business minded peoples" is used as an excuse. It is a bout professional or non- professional thingy. A professional company will state their things clearly to avoid any chances of being complained by customers. And another thing is when the first time i got into tat websites, i look at the spec and the price. i thought it was that spec with that price. They did not put a "Starting from" or a "++" sign but at the bottom is all chosen with the lowest spec. Tat is not confusing huh?...hmmm...if u wan i can recommend u some websites which are not confusing and stated clearly...

Yet when i asked them why is it so confusing...they replied me "Follow the options"...i was like..."ok...if i understand ur options why would i be asking u?"...but no offense to you bro...it is juz a feedback to improve their service
