My proposed timeline:-
1. 1 week to shape the EVA
2. 1 week to fit(temporary) - EVA, reel seat and guides for both spinning and BC
3. 1 week to perform spray job and dry for the chilli red color tone for all 10x blanks
4. 1 week to epoxy the position of EVA and reel seat firmly
5. 2 weeks to tie the guide binding to all 10x rods
6. 2 weeks to epoxy and run rotating machine to all the 10x rods

Once all these is done, the rod is pending for the final part. The rod guide tip, which is not included in the order(due to the reason that the measurement of the rod tip could be either too big diameter or too small to fit. Also, some preferred the SiC guide tip) hence fitting the rod guide tip will be last. This step alone, i assume will be taking 1 week for all the 10 rods.

DO make a decision if all orders agrees to use SiC rod guide tip which will heighten the cost by RM30~40 each rod.

Current costing per rod:-
1. Rod blank - RM135
2. All rod building parts, epoxy, thread, guides, reel seats - USD 370.28 + RM150 local tax (RM1179 + RM150 = RM1,329 div 10pcs = RM133each)
3. EVA - RM20
4. Masking tape - RM10

Total costing per rod as of now = RM298 nett

All documentations is available for anglers to review.

Bro Acheong,
Am ok with any of the order's decisions.

Alternatively, can collect the rod without the rod tip biggrin.gif

I was thinking if all could be completed(ready for fishing) at one go, then we could hunch a 10paxs game somewhere... biggrin.gif Exotic to test out the parabolics perhaps? biggrin.gif

Bro Fau,
Unsure about that... especially for other brands. But if you're looking for a Garmin, definitely there's a real good offer smile.gif

yo yo yo... been too busy with work. no time for fishing. 24hr operations daily sucks!

Only able to steal some time shore casting once in awhile after work. nothing laded as of yet but sightings show that there are turtles, huge siakap putih, MJs and barracudas chasing bait fishes. LOL!

Nice!
Which location is this?

Have you tried watching the tide table? smile.gif

went to the fair this morning, couldnt see rory there at his garmin booth though
a lot of things to see, a few new tackle brands launched (cant remember name), overall its like a huge huge tackle shop, but dont expect any discount though, was disappointed with this.. i was looking for daiwa products but only managed to find 1 booth showcasing daiwa reels only, no rods and other stuff. same goes for shimano, no power pro....fuji is there and you can test the diff between normal guide and sic guide side by side. ABU only shows their BC  reels yawn.gif some brands i never heard of are there, 1dollar can get ur boat there, coolman is there but at normal retail price, in fact most of the items in the fair are selling at normal retail price, and its rare for me to walk in to tackle shop and buy ntg, what so with this huge scale of fair lol

*remember to buy some rod & line mag and u're entitled for lucky draw plus a goodie bag full of non-fishing related items  rclxms.gif

Ah Bro Fau,
Thanks for dropping by. I was around in the afternoon. smile.gif

Bro 1$,
Thanks to you and Chin for dropping by and staying with us till evening.

Me and Jeff was representing Eastern Tackle(sub disti of Shimano, esp for lower end models) and they wanted us to cover a few little points. Synopsis as below.

1. What is a BC
2. Types of braking systems ( Mag, Centri and DC)
3. How a BC helps in casting in a bushy environment(here Jeff did the accuracy pitching and the casting to my finger - YES my finger. I was given a chance too but unfortunately, me not as good as him. Only manage to hook on his palm instead of the 3 inches finger.. LOL)
4. Jigging methods (Overhead and Spinning, and how we can practise at home. Practically the arm and the right cadence for overhead/spinning jigging)
5. Micro jig (method to jig much smaller lures - 15gs)
6. Invitation to submit in articles to RnL

I would say the interesting part is only on the demo. The rest, kind boring... biggrin.gif

Shoot@m3 : Nope. not in east malaysia but just the east coast of peninsular malaysia.

Am missing out on the angling and outdoor fair. anyway guys, this is a fair, not a jumble sale. if there are any stuffs on sale then its a bonus. dont expect anything cheap there but try looking out for new stuffs or new technologies.

as we all know, fishing is not a big industry here in malaysia. you cant expect an angling fair to be same like the PC fair we have here. that's just not how things work.

cheers!

*rants from a person stuck in the east coast missing out on a lot of things back home*

Agree with WWW,

Most angling show/fair, is an opportunity for distributors/brand owners to flare the range of products they have. Rather than much sales smile.gif

Morning All,

Did a little balancing check on the custom rod.

At this point of time, this is the look and condition of the rod smile.gif It is still a prototype as of now, due to weight balancing concern. Once it's done, i'll be proceeding with the spinning version.

From there, i'll add in colors and cosmetics.

Enjoy the new born baby look.

Additional information:

From the reel seat till the butt EVA, it's about our palm till elbow(minus 2~2.5inch from elbow)

Overall as of now, the weight is on the front from the handle. I'll be getting a balancer for the space between the palm EVA and butt EVA.

Example:
http://fishinglifestyle.net/wp-content/upl...-de-lipire1.jpg

This makes the rod having better cosmetic as well as better grip with a slightly thicker emptiness between the palm and butt EVA

Bro Aaron,
Sharp eye!

Definitely need to shave a little angle there to make the EVA smooth into the reel seat. Just minor taper nia. smile.gif
