The balancer tube is made of aluminum, only minor additional weight.
I have tried pairing with MGX(which is very light). When balanced at the reel seat lock nut, the rod is pointing upwards approximately 4~6degree. With guides and epoxy(together with reel), the rod should be straight and balanced by then. Questions: 1. The balancer to be silver color or everyone prefer black? |

hmmn... bro Inv,
may cause palm abrasion when fish fighting... Recommend the palm rest eva better.. However, let me go home and see if i can reverse the parts. Most important is the rod balancing. If following the same design as we have now, by just shifting the locking system, the rod will be tip heavy |

our reel seat locking is something like this.
![]() If we reverse it, then our palm will be resting at the threads of the locking nut. |

Looking good Bro Inv,
Do you want the aluminum spacer? I purchased 20ft as it comes in a strip and for our custom rod, we only used 1 out of the 4 cut section. Also, i have measured for the spinning reel seat lock nut. Sadly, i would not recommend to reverse the part due to these factor:- 1. The locking thread is short, thus if we placed the lock set at the back we may not be able to fit the reel footing. The lock nut will be stopped by the palm EVA(not able to extend any further) 2. We could fit the fit the front locking(the non moving reel seat) further forward, but it may cause the locking thread to expose too much and causing inability to lock the reel footing properly(as in loose) It's kinda hard to explain, but allow me to call you later today to explain via the phone. BTW, good looking rod there you're having. PS: Where did you obtained the SK2 Casting reel seat? Locally or online order? |

I ordered via mudhole too but Bro Inv mentioned probably due to the recent changes thus the taxation incurred in the bill. Damn! |

Fellas,
Just an update for the rod building progress. I will be away for the whole next week. Having store visitation at Johor for 1 week. As of now, all the rod is done for the handle part. Once i'm back, will be guide binding liao PS: building a set of rod is not easy... causing my finger with corn liao...hahahahha.. at least it's a good memories for me |

hey all...am back~!!!
Update on the rod: All the handles are epoxied and let for rest. Now have to kawtim the smaller part of the handle assembly. Having a little trouble reaming the Fuji SK2 end cap... the size is around 11.2mm which is impossible to match the drill bit. All i can do is to sand paper the end cap gently... Once that is done, the next would be lock nut sets with another 2 more pieces of end cap!!.... |
