How do they calculate the CGPA ?
*
ok. according to some lecturer who gave a talk on this topic a while back:

Grade Points (GP):
A, 4.00
A-, 3.67
B+, 3.33
B, 3.00
B-, 2.67
C+, 2.33
C, 2.00
C-, 1.67
D+, 1.33
D, 1.00
F, 0.00

(* i'm not sure about the existence of grade D+ & D, but at least the GPs are correct for their 2 corresponding grades sweat.gif sorry i couldnt jot the list down fast enough)

so wat u do is, let's say u're taking 4 subjects. u add up the 4 GPs, then u take the average of it (which is dividing the sum by 4). there u have ur Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA).

i think its due to the misconception of government thinking that arts stream students are generally weaker than science stream students.
anyway u can always appeal to ur school administration and see wat happens.

AFAIK u must confirm wat subjects u are taking upon registration.
u can simply choose any subjects u like as in SPM.
this is because one or more of the subjects will overlap each other during STPM exam.
another thing is that it makes it harder for the teacher to put up a schedule to teach all ur rojak subjects.

Only science subjects are used for calculation in CGPA if you plan to enroll into science courses in local universities.
Extras are wasted.
