erm... it's waterproof up to 1m for 30mins

if i remember correctly, there's 1 acro s (same IP rating as Z) user, he really forgotten his phone in his pocket and put into washing machine. after a while he heard "ge dung, ge dung, ge dung,..." sound coming from washing machine. then only he realise his phone in the washing machine. turns out, his phone survive the washing machine test

so far 2 features really interest me
battery stamina mode- sure lots of people agree that smartphone nowadays can barely last a day use... hopefully this can really extend battery life
display calibration- hope this can solve some of the screen washout problem reported on some other Xperia phone as well.

i am using acro s now. regarding battery issue, i think is normal for smartphone nowadays. last 1 full day if light use. about half day if heavy use (heavy gaming, 3g)
heat, normal la if only online and sms... but if gaming, yes it can be quite hot. sometimes i played games until my game auto close cos i think it was too hot. but so far never encounter heat until device shut down la.
durability... survived 1 fall without casing from about waist level. no damage at all.

same here. but the water proud features may come in handy. whenever you're phone got dirty, just wash it! no worries at all

yup, not a must-have, but a very-nice-to-have feature

drop into water i also not dare la. but definitely can survive splash of water or wash in running water. if even splash of waater got sip inside the phone, then confirm either the ports are not propewrly covered or the phone have some defects in water resistance

that's y i prefer zl, more compact size.
but still wait will i get some hands on experience on both device then only final decide

well, just need to keep an eye on the launch in other country. Normally countries like china, HK, taiwan and even vietnam will release earlier than m'sia.

wow... in terms of technical specification, i have to give samsung credit la. their flagship device always push the current tech to its limits

if only they improve on their built quality and design... well, we can't have the best of everything

same prediction here. both will be priced around XS launch price. maybe Z abit higher or ZL abit lower than that

well i think it's possible as sony previous flagship XS also priced at 1899 right? HTC and samsung flagship (HOX and S3) had always been priced around 2099/2199

let us all just hope for the best!

yeah, sony's other product are priced much higher compatred to other brand. well, that's because sony have already established their brand as premium product, like tv, speaker or laptop. but as for smartphone, sony is definitely not there yet and r still consider "young".

hence, thus far their price for smartphone is still consider lower than other leading brand.

that's what i think la.

but judging from all the feedback and hype so far for the XZ, it also won't surprise me if sony price it on par as other leading brand.

well, as junseng pointed out, if there is a charging dock for ZL, it will be like the ones for XT / XTX. the dock have low/minimal back support and thus will not block the speaker. also the dock will have a micro usd port protuding from the dock for ZL's micro usb charging port. just look at the dock and u will understand how it works.

also, i think the chances for the dock to be included for Z will be higher because with the dock, it reduces the needs to open the port cover every time we need to charge the phone. but for ZL, it is really just an optional item as there isn't any port cover.
