ASUSmy HyppTV is working intermittently on RT-AC86U
I have to turn off the HyppTV STB first then turning it back only then it'll work
Tested on both stock firmware & Merlin, both has the same issue

I don't have this issue with my RT-AC68U
And it seems that I'm not the only one whose having this issue

1. i haven't tried the 2.4Ghz network on my TV yet, but the 2.4Ghz can power my whole house from living hall to second floor, on coverage i don't think is a problem, only speed might only get max 100mbps, which i currently is on Unifi 500mbps.

2. i don't plan to run a cable to my PC, due to not that nice la.. therefore trying to maximize the wifi performance

It is overheating.

Have you tried the typical RESET and reconfigure?

Make sure you run the latest firmware as well.

Local units come with 3 years one to one exchange warranty. 
It will only be faster if you used a WiFi 6 device to run speedtest tho.

Wireless AC peaks at 500Mbps for most if not all mobile devices. WiFI 6 brings it up to 700Mbps.

IMO, you should use the RT-AX3000 as the main node as it is a faster router.

I also having the same issue with my rt-ax3000 which i just got it today.
Once connected to hypptv (LAN4) under unifi-home profile, the router will go into auto restart mode and will forever restart until LAN4 cable was removed. Tried set to manual profile vlan 600 for lan4 also doesnt work.
If didnt connect lan4, everything will be fine. Seems like something wrong with the firmware.
I'm using the latest firmware - Version 3.0.0.4.384.8591

hi yed, FYI, got new firmware - Version 3.0.0.4.384.8601 but i tried. still not working 

Thanks for your feedback. I've decided to fallback to the old router instead and keep the new one in the box. Have to keep the voice running.

From my short observation,  I have to agree this issue have something to do with VLAN.  Seems that only one VLAN can get connected at any one time. I can get voice connected when internet is down, vice-versa.
