Using wifi analyser app found the signal gone missing few moments then come back.

This never happen to C1200.

I will give it a try later, if does not work as it should then i let know. smile.gif

Ps... I already posted at Asus link, should continue discuss there as this is tp-link thread.

I would propose you to try those settings adjustment right away.
It should fix your slowdown problem. icon_rolleyes.gif

May i ask. RT-N12HP default wireless setting will give those problems i listed in my first post? Or default wireless will work fine?

Maybe need to try only can know but if need to tweak, i will not accept the product.

It is not as advertised, easy and simple setup.
*
Answer is YES.

Enable Wireless Multicast Forwarding. ---> https://routerguide.net/how-to-adjust-optim...-network-speed/
Disable Enable WMM ASPD ---> https://routerguide.net/wmm-apsd-on-or-off/
Disable Enhanced interference management ---> Will force 40Mhz to 20Mhz + channel hopping around in congested environment. ---> Probably this explain your wifi signal gone missing few moments then come back.
Set Tx Power adjustment to 200 mW ---> default 80mw is too low. C1200 for instance transmit at 100mW

It is as advertised, easy and simple setup, no? bruce.gif

Last stuff to try for RT-N12HP? Change the MTU and MRU value at WAN section to 1480 (I think the default is 1492 for N12HP?)?

There's a known "fix". I've been using the TM supplied C1200 for over a year and so far it's been okay. I guess I got one of the lucky fuss-free hardware. Mine's V1 and currently running a "stable" non-malaysian firmware. Those air quotes are cuz tplink later pulled that update from their site. Beats me why they did that as it works great so far. Been at least 2 weeks that it's been on 24/7.. Zero random reboots. I know cuz my WAN IP has remained the same all this time. My place isn't that big and just a couple walls and thus fits my needs for now.

Recently, I saw some of Asus DSL router with 6000V Anti-Surge feature. How exactly does this feature works? I assume the 6000V is the voltage rating, but how about energy rating in joules, operating voltage, response time, maximum current, and clamping voltage?

Most importantly, does this feature protect the dsl router from surge coming from phone line?

Hi JohnLai,

The Anti-Surge is to protect the modem router from overcurrent such as lightning until 6000V. It is hardware based protection which is enabled by default.

This is the minimum voltage protection against lightning that modem need to meet in SIRIM requirement as we unable to predict how much voltage of a lightning when it struck.

To understand more, maybe you can refer to one of the SIRIM report ITU-T K.21.

Thank you

Hi everyone,

Is it normal that my ASUS router(AC1200G+) when connect to 2.4Ghz wifi only has half of the speed compare to another HUAWEI usb modem router(E8372)?
It seems like there's something limiting the speed of the ASUS router. Because sometime the speed can same as the HUAWEI router but sometime it just stuck at around 10Mbps.
Both are 2.4Ghz wifi, same location top of the 2 meter height cabinet.

If connect to 5Ghz wifi on ASUS router is fine, speed is very fast and stable, just 2.4Ghz wifi act weird.

Thank you

Because you are setting the channel bandwidth as 20Mhz instead of 40Mhz or 20/40Mhz (co-existence)?

I know you don't work at Asus.

It just that a lot of people complaining about 55UHP (1200g+ too)maxed out at 300Mbps+ because NAT Acceleration not working.
Some of them even bought new routers. Imagine their doh.gif after Asus releases the fix for their 55UHP. lol.gif

I wouldn't say no, but hardly you come across a company still provide FW upgrade or solution on EOL product.

I'm appreciated, at least ASUS never ignore.

Indeed, if only Asus can price its product cheaper.... sad.gif

Only if your visited websites support IPv6....... console.gif
Then you will get full speed even with QOS enabled.

Don't believe? Try downloading some stuff google drive (easier to test), ensure IPv6 is being used, ta-daa...500Mbps or 800Mbps on ipv6 even with QOS enabled.

hi blacktubi sifu,

I have recently using Asus AX86U, my wifi 5Ghz settings as below:-
[attachmentid=10734163]

i tested my iPhone 12 pro and 11 pro, and only able to get 250-300Mbps in speed test (just right beside router), i read your post able to get higher speed https://www.blacktubi.com/review/asus-rt-ax86u/

my UniFi is 500Mbps plan, I am able to get 500Mbps in speed test with two other computers through LAN

any settings I miss out or have to do some extra configuration? I am using firmware 3.0.0.4.384_9318
I tired with different channel / auto, still wandering ~250-300Mbps only from my iPhone 12 pro (iOS 14.3) and 11 pro (iOS 14.2), also tried reset the router once to start fresh, seems same

anyone with solution greatly appreciated. thanks.  notworthy.gif

First thing, I don't know if iphone 12 wifi6 2x2 chips support 160mhz or not.....but your router screenshot indicates it is up to 80Mhz. Perhaps you want to tick that 160mhz? At the "professional" tab, I think there is a thing called "HE" something, maybe you want to make sure it is enabled too?

I mean 2x2 at 80MHz means raw physical data rate of 1.2 Gbps (Note the wording physical). There are data link, network and transport layers etc......let just say lotta overhead.....
