how does a battery calibration works?

Added on January 1, 2013, 9:50 pmlately my battery juice drained quite fast, checked on BBS, partial wakelock,
a lot on Audio_out 2 and Media Scanner thingy, how do I stop/reduce them?
*
For Audio Out..nothing can be done.
For Media Scanner..once it finished scanning it will stop. If you reboot or power off the phone..once you power on then it will start re-scanning again.
Sometimes a broken thumbnails or corrupt files can make your Media Scanner keep on scanning non-stop. Only way is force closed it and start removing that broken thumbnails or corrupt files.

Yup but I feel Samsung's decision to add S-Pen to SGS4 is not so right . I mean , S-pen is for the Note series yet they wanna merge it now ? No comment , maybe better things will come to set apart this 2 range

Only size will differentiate between those two phones later on

mine is on stock rom + perseus kernel by the way.

what do you mean when you say force close it and start removing broken thumbnails or corrupt files? is there a diagnosis that we can do?
how do we go about it? I try looking high and low, but to no avail though... sad.gif

Hmm..hard question to answer since all my media files is clean coz i'm using SGS Toolbox on my previous S3.
I think you can check any broken or corrupt files via PC.

Well , lets say u transfer a photo or song to your phone . it will not be able to update since it's disabled . However , some ppl get corrupted files as in songs or photos , so media scanning wouldn't stop scanning and this drains alot of battery .

It you clear RAM..all your media cache also been cleared. Once you reboot then your media scanner will start scanning and built up your media cache again. This normally done on the first scanning and it gonna take some time and use some battery juice.
If you have broken thumbnail or corrupt media files then sometimes your media scanner got stuck and start re-scanning again and again like some sort of bootloop. That's why it's gpod to remove any broken thumbnail or corrupt files from your phone.

edit : ooo..noobi3 post #894 is much easier to understand..lolz tongue.gif

like i said..i check mine using SGS Toolbox on my previous S3 phones. The app not compatible with Note2 though. Easiest way is check each media files manually and see whether each song can be played..ditto to videos files and images can be open in gallery.

Added: I noticed that my battery level hardly drops (or doesn't drop that much) when my screen is turned off. Once I start doing something on my phone, I can see that it keeps dropping. doh.gif doh.gif
