if u browsing through 3g then it's normal to loose 5% per 25 mins (1% per 5 mins) which mean you can get total of 500 mins of screen on 3g browsing which is 8+ hours isn't that normal?  hmm.gif

I only know browsing through wifi will save you abit more...  nod.gif
*
Never had this issue before... Not so serious like now. sad.gif

thanks for the confirmation.  For the sake of using the Allcast Share dongle, have to revert back to stock rom as per Joytest experience.  Flashed mine with the pre-rooted LL4 rom he suggested, which can install chinise by additional download.  Thinking flashing my wife's note II to the latest Turkey LL5 instead.

btw, you flashed it via PC Odin unrooted, then root it later?  or there is already a pre-rooted version?  Lazy to do 2 steps lah.  tongue.gif
*
Yeah, you know I'm quite particular in Chinese input. tongue.gif Not that I'm Chinese educated actually. rolleyes.gif

Nope, I have Mobile Odin Pro so my root is still intact. biggrin.gif

one of my Uni buddy (from KL too) also not chinese educated but know some chinese language.  I think his mum send him to tuition out of normal class during primary school.  He is currently working in Beijing, China.  biggrin.gif

Yes, I only use MOP unless like that my phone cannot be switched on, had to use PC Odin. laugh.gif

Ya, my parents used the same method too. Sent me to private Chinese tutor since primary to high school, so informally I did have Chinese background la... My parents are very proud with this strategy. rclxub.gif

H+ and H got any difference?
*
H = HSDPA
H+ = HSPA+

HSPA = High speed in both uplink and downlink. And Yes H+ is faster than H.
The range should go like this: G>E>3G>H (a.k.a. 3.5G)>H+>LTE

4Mbps is not that normal for Maxis in KL TBH.
Me simply click also more than 5Mbps. smile.gif

QUOTE(aspire2oo6 @ Jan 3 2013, 06:43 PM)
they using a different dongle with some setting u need to change.

4mbps is normal but in city area can reach 8mbps like bukit bintang area.
*
Not necessary dongle, captured on my phone before. smile.gif
And no settings. APN everything is the same as mobile phone. smile.gif
In fact APN is not important at all.

Search thru didnt see anyone mentioned about it

No by luck la. smile.gif
Nothing to activate, it depends on your area. Since you are in the same area as mine, I don't see why you can't. smile.gif
But again I heard there are few towers at Seapark but I'm not sure which I'm connected to.

One of the examples speed I captured in Seapark. smile.gif (Since you showed that page)
user posted image

I don't do any settings in fact Maxis has nothing to do. sweat.gif
Just to add on, that speed was captured using my USB modem.

As for the 11Mbps speed I mentioned was using my Hotlink SIM card. I cannot afford to cut my 3G broadband card to put into my Note II.

I hope this clarifies. smile.gif

Me too i'm still on Stock ROM. And i think the juice consumption quite ok. Lazy to really observe by numbers but i think u guys are quite paranoid about battery. Okay certain ROMS and customizations might give a little difference, but it couldnt be too much. For me i just prepare myself with powerbank, car charger and spare chargers in office. If the battery life gets shorten in any ways..

Not paranoid but when you have 5% reduction in 25 minutes, you will know how I feel. smile.gif
Then when WhatsApp also drops like crazy. Then you will know not that I want to complain but seriously something is wrong somewhere. smile.gif
Luckily some kind people did try to help me out. biggrin.gif

QUOTE(shchiam1978 @ Jan 4 2013, 02:02 PM)
Someone from XDA posted his feedback.
interesting enough that i also tried several DLL5 ROM and the battery doesn't last longer than the previous one.

I may be wrong but keep trying

ok Guys...i have a bad and a good news. I think it should to be shown and, of course, better verified between all the OP'er.

The bad news is XXDLL5 drains something between 30% and 50% of battery more than XXDLL4. The good news is that I found why my Note 2 operating time would reach only a little more than 1 day compared to medium of last 2 months of 2 days and a little bit more, using it more or less always in the same way...

It's 4-5 days I'm trying many differents ROM XXDLL5 based....at the beginning I believed it was happened something...I tried everything: all the guides of battery calibration using each kind of "voodoo" procedure, using calibration software, battery wips from CMW etc etc...formatting system, data, preoload, cache, system, supermegafactory wip etc etc etc...tried many kind of kernel, settings, I checked the "deep sleep" with batterystats etc etc....but nothing to do.
Battery drain was inescapable.
Until (following one of the Tamirda suggestion) I tried to come back again to on ROM XXDLL4 based (the exile rom) and the battery drain stopped.

I flashed XXDLL4 at 8 o'clock p.m. After the first boot and the app configuration I was at 10%. Now, 11.30 p.m. I'm already at 10%!!!
With XXDLL5, It didn't matter which rom or kernel or other I would had, I lost 3-4% each hour...

So I pray you Tamirda (and I will try to advice all the other OPer) to consider this problem (it's strange that only me and a few people seem to have battery problem in the last days with XXDLL5).
I am absolutely SURE (I was going crazy) that samsung will realize XXDLL5 firmware rom base has this bug.

Many thanks for your attention. For my and interest of all community.

Ciao!
*
OMG, this is such an enlightenment while I live in dark for the past few days. laugh.gif
Off for DLL4 then. biggrin.gif

*
Yes, it only supports pure broadband and not the one bundled with voice.

Sir, HSPA+ and LTE are not the same thing. smile.gif
42Mbps is clearly DC-HSPA+ speed, while LTE can go up to 100Mbps.
However, Maxis' benchmark now is at around 70Mbps.

They will of course roll out the plans with voice later. For this kind of initial stage, only broadband is rolled out. smile.gif
