my last service last month Jan 20.

they told me 10k is only for Civic.

anyone sure its for City?
because i drive 5000km in less than 1 month,
sometimes 20 days already exceed 5000.
would be damn happy if they extend it to 10k
*
I think it is for City, go here http://www.honda.com.my/model/overview/city/

Then click 'Accessories' then 'New Service Package'. The FAQ says

user posted image

If this is for Civic they won't put this statement in there, so I guess they did change it to 10K interval now rclxms.gif

Probably need a new service booklet, I'm going to ask my SA tomorrow biggrin.gif

It's 2013 made, I called many of the Honda from other state all 2012 had been sold out no more stock. The cash rebate I get from my SA is RM2500 plus a full tank petrol, actually I get another better deal from another SA that is cash rebate RM3000 if I buy before CNY but he is different from different state so at the end I take the RM2500 discount want rclxms.gif
Yeah really quite a nice car, but I buy the S spec because my family all don't agree to take E spec but I'm poisoned by the paddle shift at first haha... Any common problem for the city that I should give attention to?
*

Nothing major i think, it's a decent car and quite reliable from what I gather around. Just take note of any ratling sounds from the dashboard and tell them to check on your first service.

QUOTE(Johannas @ Feb 11 2013, 07:40 PM)
Going for my first 1k service this week. Just want to reconfirm with you guys, will there be any oil change for the first service? Heard its inspection only but read in autoworld forum saying there should be an oil change to remove remaining debris from the new engine. Kinda confuse now.
*
Correct first service no oil change. 5k onwards will got.

QUOTE(mytaffeta @ Feb 11 2013, 10:18 PM)
eh pre-FL city service interval still 5k interval ah? sad.gif
*
I'm sure it'll effect pre-fl as well. Maybe give Honda Malaysia a call?

Is 2013 City a new facelift city? Is there new one coming out soon?

Better get S or E ? Is VSA really useful?

Later if get S want to change rim/tyre to 16" is it more expensive then just take E?
*
No new one for at least until next year I think. The 2013 is the same as the FL model last year.

If you can afford the E, get the E. VSA not only useful, it might just save your live one day. Plus you got a lot of other extra stuff

+turn indicator on side mirror
+fog lamp
+back seat got compartment below
+bigger rim and tyre size
+paddle shift
+maybe got more, I forgot tongue.gif

I rather spend the extra 5k to get the E spec, than to add bodykit, rim, audio etc etc to the S spec.

Edit: Typo

Not sure whether the SC aware or not, but I did say something like this, "I read in the honda website there is a new maintenance schedule for new honda cars whereby the interval is 10k and not 5k". He simply replied, "Yes, but that is for the new civic only". Sigh.
*
Hmm.. maybe need to call up Honda Malaysia to confirm?

Guys, i just did 20K service for my H.City 2012. It cost me around RM500++ !!

p/s: used full synthetic for engine oil and my car only 5 months old.

Dafuq? Is that normal? =.=
*
Even with Fully Syn oil should not cost RM500. Did you check what else they add-on to the bill? If you look at their site, 20k should cost about RM357+.

QUOTE(TenNix @ Feb 18 2013, 05:10 PM)

Yes, even with fully still need to go back every 5k..

guys, wanna ask if i lost 1 of my honda city keys can i duplicate it at a 3rd party shop like those at shopping malls that offer car key duplicating service with my 2nd key?
*
I don't think they can duplicate the immobilizer. Refer here http://forum.autoworld.com.my/index.php?showtopic=14087

Cost at least RM200++. You might to give all the Honda SC a call to ask and confirm the cost. Luckily it's not key-less, otherwise can easily cost 1k. blink.gif

Basically installing OEM DVD GPS player would not void warranty as it is just plug and play, but installing a reverse camera would. Why? Because there is no plug and play socket made for a reserve camera, and the wire is usually connected from reverse lights, either a positive wire of left or right reverse light will have to peel/cut in order to made the connection (it supplies 12v power the camera whenever a reverse gear is engaged).
*
Holly, yours still stock? Kinda interested with this as well. Haha. Just want to hear some feedback first.

Btw, I've PM Honda Malaysia about the 'New Services Package' for our City on Facebook. See what they reply.

Mine is about 14-15km/l for 50% (highway) + 50% (city). Not bad for a car this 'heavy' haha. Too bad the fuel tank is tiny, so our range is only about 450 - 500km per tank most of the time.

Btw, I got this reply from Honda Malaysia facebook chat. Thought?

5k interval service for pre-facelift, and 10k for facelift.  laugh.gif

I think someone went to regular services with the new FL city and ask about it at the SC, they say only the new Civic got this 10k interval thing.. maybe they don't get the memo, or the web developer who did the site messed up pretty badly and put the wrong info on there.

The last one is for service interval of 10,000km

so, the service interval for city facelift still the same, which is 5,000km

They should update the website to reflect this, misleading information. Haha.

does your new honda city have noise from dashboard especially in cold whether? (like early morning and night)
*
Mine does, since it happen so randomly its very hard to show this to SC.. I think something in the centre console.

QUOTE(mytaffeta @ Feb 25 2013, 12:35 PM)
pls dont opt for full-sync.. it does help on fc just a little, very little.. but it affect the acceleration very much..

but i do manage to set personal record, 340km traveled with half tank left..
*
+1 with the full sync, not worth the extra money for a bit of extra acceleration. And still need to send car every 5k. Might as well just use mineral oil sweat.gif

Just notice that my NHC S spec centre console is not chrome, I wasn't aware that centre console chrome is only apply to full spec  cry.gif Arrghhh, start regretting already should get a full spec instead of the normal spec. Love the leather steering wheel with audio control and paddle shift so much, between just wondering is it possible to change the whole steering wheel to the leather steering wheel in future? Just went to my first 1k service FC is really blood sucker, can't wait for the 5k service since everyone saying FC will get better after the 5k service
*
Which centre console? You can wrap the steering in leather if you want. But not easy to fit in the audio control. Huhu..

Yeah after 5k service should be better a bit.

QUOTE(vuilun @ Feb 27 2013, 01:08 PM)
as my understanding..it should be NEW MODEL onwards..City FL 13 stil the same model..just year diff..

Oh okay, so the next Gen City then.. wonder when they will come out with a new City. I'm sure it will come with key-less start/entry, cruise control and a few more air bags.. wink.gif

How to wrap the steering in leather? You mean buy from accessories shop? But actually I like the original full spec leather steering wheel is it possible to buy the original leather steering wheel for E spec and install to my normal S spec city? Between the cruise control is for what use?
*
Got service to wrap, search around in Mudah.my. Here's one 1 found that provide the service

http://www.mudah.my/prinzautoservices

They will do it for you, not like those cover you can buy from accessories shop, this one is proper wrap so the finishing will be quite similar to the E-spec steering.

The E-spec steering got the Audio Control unit integrated, it will probably cost a lot.. since it came with the air-bags as well. Try and ask your SA if this is possible to replace.

Cruise control allow you to lift your foot from the pedal and it will maintain the speed you set until you cancel or you step on the brakes. Very useful for long highway drive, not so tiring.

FL 2012  has cruise control?
*
It does but not the one selling in Malaysia. Only certain country have City with cruise control. They should add that in for the E Spec and add a bit more to the price.

Is there an aftermarket radio antenna for our car? There's a lot of noise when listening to the radio (tried with Fly, Hitz, Red, Mix .. all got noise)

I can still listen to the song fine but it does get a bit annoying after you're used with the clean output from the USB/CD.

Can't deny our stock audio output from USB/CD/iPod is good enough, but radio reception is just so-so.

To solve this simply change the stock radio antenna to aftermarket or add an FM booster/amplifier to increase the range, something like this.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nBaaB_rp-SA

Most of the China aftermarket GPS/DVD doesn't have this issue because their unit comes with build in HD radio tuner.
*
I might just get an aftermarket GPS/DVD just for this reason alone.. my dad Inspira radio sounded so clear and nice. Damn jelly. Haha.

There's a better solution and it's free. Turn on your music, the 6 high quality stock speakers that came with the car for a reason. The reason is also why you bought the car. I also suppose Honda did not invest too much on noise damping so savings would be invested into those speakers.

Keep that RM800 in your pocket for something else, and turn on the music each time you drive. Just update your music list frequently, it's a waste if you spend that money like that distorting the design of the car with the wheel bracket like that.

user posted image tongue.gif

Joking aside, I don't see anything wrong with trying to improve the NVH of our car if you got the budget for it. Its a matter of priority. Some people might prefer to mod their ride with nicer rim, body kit etc, some just use the car stock standard for the rest of its life.

I drove 160KM average on a daily basis so I rather improve the NVH of my ride than any cosmetic stuff for now.

p/s - The 6 speaker does sound really good, so that really helps to reduce the tyre noise for a while biggrin.gif
