Crystal vision good?

1.5k with GPS can only get you some generic china brand I think.. the one similar to Caska. I think got someone selling in garage sales.

I think better if you take proper double din player and use the centre console panel cover, it will sound much better than the generic china one.

I'm actually planing on replacing the stock HU as well.. with proper double din player.. still doing my homework on it. haha

If any of you already change their HU please drop by and comment..
*
Remember to select the correct colour for the faceplate.. cuz FL City has darker shade.. below is an example of pre FL using FL panel unit.. looks weird

user posted image

For branded double din players, most that i survey cant support our AUX and USB/IPOD ... means if change to the double din proper ones, then the ori AUX and USB need to be sacrificed. Sounds abit wasted, luckily most can retain the steering volume control though. So do take note to get those that can use back our ori AUX n USB ..

my fren own a FL but using pre-FL colour.. haha.. and his USB is still usable, using the original cable somemore.. he said its caska.. AUX im not sure..
*
ya those Caska, Adayo and etc which was custome for City can be used, but those like Pioneer, Nakamichi, Philips, Sony double din ... those are the ones that might not be compatible.

Bro, say if we change to Pioneer or Kenwood, obviously the AUX and USB will no longer being used right, but do you think we can keep the USB port for charging phone? Basically keep the port powered so can use to charge phone.
It is possible since its a simple 4pin USB port... just that we need to diy wired the 2pins to the power source then it will be good to go. But that would be abit hassle and some DIY soldering work. Plus the connector to HU is abit diff, so its kinda hard to plug n play to those branded units also except nid solder n rewiring to the output usb given. All can say is a hassle of work lol ...

hi guys, i own a S-grade 2012 facelift honda city.

no fog light installed. can i just install at accessories shop. this will void my warranty?

i want to pu some modulo skirting, u guys where in penang give affordable price?

thanks
*
Theorically it doesnt vote any warranty, but to play it safe Honda SC might void your electrical wirings if they are finding something to blame for. I think better wait for after warranty only install the foglights to avoid any hassle.

Just did a search online, found that a lot of people changed to Honda Accord horn.. haha..
didn't really know Hella or PIAA horn, will look after later...

By the way, do you have any idea where to change the horn??

Thanks.
*
i changed to Accord horn, the horn sound is slightly louder and more bass into it as our ori horn is more one the 'chicken' horn side. Not as loud as PIAA or Hella but changing the horn is easy as it is plug and play for ori Accord horn. I think lowyat garage got a guy selling it, you can try find there.

Here is a video recorded by our TS Earl-ku, you can compare the diff and see if you like it. If wan louder then of coz PIAA or Hella

Xin, you purchased from the guy "ckhoong" right?
Your Honda is which year?
Do you need to remove your bumper to change the horn??
*
nope i bought mine while i was out to China for business trip. Went to Honda 4S center nearby that time. No need to remove bumper, just need to force the horn in.. might need some pushing but the bumper is flexible. Mine is the preFL, the FL version i not sure ...

Anyway thanks for your info.

ya i think so but you can purchase the horn and just bring to any acc shop help you to install. If you are doing other stuffs with the shop, i think they will waive the labour charge.

3 services of eco full syn due to discounts, then latest service gone back to semi-syn ... noticed that City really suited for semi-syn.. the power is more agrresive and more eager to move. in full-syn eco my car felt like a lazy bump and like dun wanna move when accelerate on standstill.

are you saying that you went to fully synthetic then went back to semi synthetic?

i thought thats bad for your car ...
*
Yes, you can switch back and forth between conventional, semi-synthetic, and full synthetic as much and as often as you wish. The "once you switch to synthetic you can never return" ultimatum is a myth. While some synthetic oils do contain special detergents and additives to maximize performance, none of them are capable of altering the molecular composition of your engine to require it to continue to need synthetic oil forever. They simply lubricate your engine, and lubricate much longer and more efficiently. Hence if you plan to use full synthetic, then wait for a few cycles for the additives to maximize the performance. I tried it, and are not keen on it so reverting back to semi.

Moreover the 0w-20 is more of a low viscosity semi-synt rather than a full fledge syntehtic oil.

but the green fully syn is just too thin ... i was on that a few weeks ... then revert back to the normal full syn ...
*
The thiness is the key to get a better mileage, hence all hybrids are using this 0w-20. Should be good enough as long one doesnt rev hard their car always can go for 0w-20. Been using it for 3 cycle services that is since August 2012 up till my last change and the engine still sounds and works healthy, the vicosity will still protect our engine internals but with hard reving constantly would wear out the thin vicosity so need to drive slow slow relax relax when using 0W-20 lol.

QUOTE(kucingfight @ Aug 23 2013, 12:39 AM)
Talking in w20,and seeing it in Honda quick guide book,is it really recommended? W30 is 'thin' enof already. Any diff ,fc u felt with w20?
*
FC surely better but by abit with the sacrifice of acceleration aggresiveness, i think w-20 is suitable for light pedal uses with less hard rev ... just normal relax drive would do.

Panic alarm is you activate the alarm manually. For example, you want to locate your in a car park, you turn on the panic alarm so that you can hear the siren of your car.
*
unfortunately most new Honda cars doesnt provide panic button anymore, even when we lock-unlock our cars also no option to enable the sound

I heard SC said is not because of Honda problem. Something to do with Malaysia's law. From what I observe, not just Honda, Toyota, MyVi, all didn't have sound when the car is lock and unlock. Is it really is some sort of Malaysia's law to limit those car makers for making that?
*
the law is on the central locking, cuz as far as for the honda cars that i drove at China and UK also doesnt have panic button. Not sure what is the rational behind this.

a bit of bad news. i just contacted a spare parts seller from garage sales. he say that part is not a serviceable part so honda didn't include it in the spare part catalogue. so... meaning we cant buy that part from spare part dealer edi

however im still able to find the cluster from china seller, price how much i duno. will update u guys once i got it

user posted image
and also still need to figure out how to open up that section. i expect it not gonna be easy job since honda didn't even include it as serviceable part.
*
bad news, we cant just change the led as the outer clear plastic for the meter cluster is coloured. For pre FL its coloured as transparent orange while the FL is transparent blue. Either change the whole cluster and yes its plug and play with no modifications or wirings needed but the odo will depends on the meter you change. As the mileage memory is all stored in the meter itself.

Got it. Small light bulb size is T10 right?
*
Here you go

front position/driving light = T10
boot lamp = T10
main brake light = T20
3rd brake light = T20
rear driving red light = T10
reverse light = T20
front/side/rear signal light = T10 T20 for front & rear, T10 for side signal (NHC-S).

Strongly not recommend to replace with LED type on front/rear side because:
(1) Not bright enough
(2) LED will cause lower resistance error and will make the 'tik tak' sound abnormal fast when signal to left/right

Btw bro, if I just change the small light T10 to a Philips Good Range Series T10 Ultinon 6000K LED it should solve problem (1) right? How about problem (2) as I'm just changing the small light not the signal lights?

I've bought Philips Crystal Vision 4300K for both headlights and foglights. Just want headlight and small light to be both white instead of one white one orange-y, which from my own experience doesn't look nice lol tongue.gif
*
shouldnt be a problem cuz just the signal light when change to led will tend to be abit weird with all the tik tak sounds going abnormal.

*
wait till over 10k then should improve marginally. Try control your footing by accelerate and release it while cruising, use paddle shifters when really needed. Cuz last time i drive vios also pedal all the way but city cannot pedal like vios else FC lagi naik ..lol

my car 65k already ... RM60 takes me 450km last weekend cruising from KL to JB with speeding and main paddle shifers once a while. Ok la, FC will get better once the mileage catch up.
