QUOTE(lastlion @ Jan 15 2013, 11:13 AM) mine also having the same issue. is it because motherboard faulty? hv u send yours to service centre? will they able to change the motherboard freely or swap to a new phone? I have not gone to the service center. Malas actually because I hate leaving the phone there. I suspect they will try and fix it and not replace it. I'll give it a couple more weeks and then I'll send it in. The plan is to reproduce the heating issue and let the Nokia Center people hold the phone baru diaorang tahu how hot the phone can get. Mine only occurs if I surf the net using 3G and if I use UC Browser (even with Wifi). Does not happen when I make calls (then again, I don;t spend more than 10-15 minutes on the phone, most of my calls are short and sweet.

QUOTE(ainuddin @ Jan 16 2013, 08:52 AM) ok, so barely 5 minutes on UC browser, my phone upper back top hot gila. close the app, browse using IE then it became cooler. i think the UC browser engine was pushing the hardware very hard, like we stress test desktop cpus. no wonder the app is fast and very responsive with all the settings and eyecandy it has. Good (well not good ... but at least it's not my CPU problem). I have a suspicion that some app really pushes the enevlop with regards to the CPU usage. UC Browser is awesome in terms of speed. I mean, going back and forth (I love the back/forward button ... MS, are you listening?) was instantaneous. But I guess as you mentioned, it comes with a price ... the CPU becomes super hot and the battery drain is incredible. I bet that if you continouosly use UC browser, you can drain the battery in 90 minutes easy. The CPU heating up also takes a toll on the battery life even after you close the app. I have had to switch on Airplane mode and then shutdown the phone and after 5 minutes, the CPU will cool down and in that 5 minutes of cooling off period, the battery would have drained another 5-6 percent.

I find this a teeny bit annoying. When you reply to an email (or compose a new email), there is an attach button where you supposedly can attach documents. What I found out is that you can only (using that particular button) attach photos and nothing else.
The only way to attach a documents (say PDF/Word/Excel Documents etc) is via the dedicated app where you can "share" the files. But this will be problematioc if you need to reply to someone as the share option will create a new email.
Also, can anyone confirm that you can open and edit Office documents (not editing PowerPoint) that is saved in your phone (via drag and drop from Windows Explorer, email attachments) BUT you actually cannot create a New word or excel documents straight from the phone?
That is just annoying.

QUOTE(suicideroach @ Jan 21 2013, 02:09 PM) not sure about the attaching documents, but for the Office inside your phone, u CAN create a new xcel or words from a blank documents. Just press the" + " icon below. For the life of me I cannot find the + button. Do I need to setup Office 365? Duuuhhhhhh ... found it ... now feels really silly. QUOTE(marauderz @ Jan 21 2013, 03:02 PM) True true .... too long with iOS mehhh .... heh heh heh. Still the attachment thing is a bit annoying. Still in iOS you can't attach jack shit (unless you jailbreak and buy the Cydia AnyAttach tweak) ... so email in WP8 is still miles ahead.

QUOTE(evilpuppy @ Jan 22 2013, 08:58 PM) Now I know what have cause my L920 radio chip burn, its talkbox!! the voice / photo upload is heavy!!! Now I'm using HD7 on talkbox the back temperature very hot!!! better stay away using talkbox on L920. Same with UC Browser. Another app that can toast your Lumia 920. So if you're cold, just use the app and the top half of the phone will warm up like hell one .... I stopped using it after trying it twice.

Nokia ni kadang kadang keras kepala one ..... But I do notice that if I on the 3G (or highest connection speed), the signal is not as good as if I just use EDGE.

QUOTE(Tapway @ Feb 8 2013, 06:45 PM) Anyone knows how to transfer contact info and backup data from Android phone to Windows 8 phone? Am thinking of getting a Lumia 920. Heard the camera is the bestest ever yet (Steve Jobs-style)! Contacts can be transferred from any Bluetooth enabled phone to a WIndows 8 phone via the Transfer my Data app. There is no need to transfer it one by one, you just need to run the app and enabled BT for both devices and it will get all the contacts from the Android phone in one go.

QUOTE(weim76 @ Feb 13 2013, 07:36 PM) Talking about Nokia Drive, I just had a good experience with it today. I arrived in Bangkok this afternoon and took a public cab from the airport. The driver had very limited English and he wasn't too sure about the exact location of my hotel. Luckily, I had downloaded Thailand map and Thai language navigation. I made sure to set my hotel location as a favorite under Nokia account before the trip. So it was easy to set it as the destination when i needed to. My Lumia talked Thai to the driver, and brought us to my hotel flawlessly. Thank god for Nokia Drive. +1000

QUOTE(ashwin988 @ Feb 16 2013, 02:28 PM) Yup got 4g today. Basically you need a microSIM, not a CUT SIM to Microsim to allow 4g to work. Just incase those dumb dumbs at Maxis tell you anything advice that this is what you want. 2ndly you would need portico for 4g to work. Its not that fast as well, as I think they are still testing the service here and there. The best I have gotten is 12-13mbps -,- Maxis does mentioned that maximum speed is 75 Mbps with average speed coming to about 20-30 Mbps. Not too bad I guess with 12-13 Mbps.

QUOTE(ashwin988 @ Feb 23 2013, 04:03 AM) For guys having issues with whatsapp, try to reinstall it. It should make things better. Wouldn't that delete all the chat history? The new ones have a backup function but I have no clue how to restore the backup. Has any tried it?

QUOTE(rogrog @ Feb 23 2013, 10:54 AM) Still hang at blank screen sometime. Whatsapp will prompt you to restore when you install it back. Ahhh ... that is cool then, meaning it has saved the backup somewhere in the phone where it is not deleted when the apps is uninstalled. The lag is really annoying ...

Thanks for the feedback guys on Whatsapp, was wondering if I should update because I am not having too many issues with 2.9.3 (2.9.2 was horrible so maybe that's why I was happy with 2.9.3)

Yeap and if you go to here.com, you can add some stuff in your collection and it will syncronise with everything on your WP8 phones. Awesome.

QUOTE(dlwl @ Feb 25 2013, 03:41 PM) I'm planning to get the 820 soon, but just read and saw pics of the 720. not bad either, i think it's nice would it be better to wait for it to arrive here or just get the 820 instead? both seem pretty similar to each other, apart from the processor and ram, no? 720 uses IPS LCD scrren (super sensitive that you can use gloves etc), looks to me 720 has better specs (other than RAM) as compared to 820
