guys, some questions:

1. If we go to Nokia Care Center (such at Bukit Bintang, as per mentioned at nokia website), can ask for the staff to update the OS to Portico?

2. when I save my CC info on Wallet apps, suddenly got charge rm4 by Microsoft. Is it normal? note that I was using the Wallet with data transfer still on...
*
2. This is normal. Microsoft is charging you RM4 for verification purposes, to verify that you are giving a genuine credit card details. At the end of your first billing period, this amount will be refunded back to you. So don't worry, they are not stealing RM4 from you, just verify and refund back at the end of the first month.

Neither can I. I've only seen it once appearing on mine. Doesn't matter, at least I don't download much biggrin.gif

Yea, it's what they promised, or I'll give them a boot real hard by boycotting them.

Ya, ONLY IN MALAYSIA. Is our technology so far behind that the bloody servers could not cater for it?

I'm dumbfounded.

Wanted to ask can window 8 phone install waze app?? If can i will gomfor nokia lumia 920
*
No, there's no official waze app, yet. Then again, Here Drive gets you to places flawlessly. There's really no need for waze, apart from traffic data and the social aspect.

Yeah, now only I saw it. The fact they posted it as a comment to another user's query instead of an official announcement could mean they are still trying to solve the 'difficulties'. Until when we don't know....  rclxub.gif
And the words are almost "copy and paste" from the original 'complimentary service' announcement.
I do hope the 'difficulties' would be resolved sooner rather than later, as I don't fancy doing manual flash and going through with re-downloading all my apps and adjusting each of the settings; rearranging my tiles layout and losing some of my data/games achievements.
*
This.

It's rather troublesome to do it. What sort of difficulties I wonder ... If Thai can do it, SG can do it, why not MY? We don't have expertise here? We don't have facilities here? In fact, our phones aren't even telcos bound. They can't even route it somewhere else in the SEA region? I'm very disappointed with them.

QUOTE(godhpf @ Apr 8 2013, 09:16 AM)
Sigh, delayed again. Really don't understand the reason of this. It's just a simple process of mapping a firmware to another firmware and the OTA should  be working. Or if they need another server, it's just copying some configurations and modifying  them.

the reason why I'm waiting for the OTA is because I have some apps data inside which is not saved to the cloud. If I reflash, all of it will be gone.

Same case here

Side note, anyone been to The Gardens lately?

Samsung took over Nokia's store, HTC remain in the middle, Sony moved next to Lego (I think), meanwhile Nokia took over Sony's store.

I wanted to say the same thing. Does anyone know when is the new Nokia store opening?

Samsung is growing bigger by the days

no...hahaha...that complicated ar to create app lol.. tongue.gif  tongue.gif
*
Well, it's not really complicated. In fact, if you know HTML, CSS3 and JavaScript, you can also use those skills to develop for both Windows 8 and Windows Phone. The new kernel actually gives you the power to use the programming path (Web, .NET and native code) to your advantage with minimal learning curve.

If you're really into programming for WP / WinRT, drop me a PM and I can point u in the right direction.

How I wish they would just slap WinRT on Win Phone. That'd solve all the problems instantly, as in INSTANTLY.

I had the same thought, exactly. The concept posted few pages back are quite similar to RT anw.
*
Given that RT can do messaging and calls natively already, I don't see why not. WinRT is so much more advanced compared to WinPhone.

With the recent restructure, lets hope they put more effort into WP. They are lucky to have Nokia who's still actively supporting the platform.

As of now, we're still developing custom solutions for our clients, mostly Microsoft / Windows and web based. I'm trying to steer the company to move away from that and into developing our own solutions with some ideas in mind. If you're interested, we can come out, meet up and talk about it further brows.gif
