I really want to know if there's any vet in Malaysia who knows how to treat a guinea pig. My most devastating memory with pets is the death of my guinea pig because of a very incompetent vet. I had been looking around for a good vet who knows how to treat guinea pigs. Til now, I have dreams about my dead guinea pig because I really feel that her death is evitable. I went to two vets whom humbly told me they had no expertise in treating guinea pigs. That's acceptable. Then when I went to the  THIRD vet in the government animal hospital in Cheras, my pet was attended by a female vet. I am fine that the previous two vets told me they didn't know how to treat my sick pet.

But this female vet in the government animal hospital's service was UNACCEPTABLE. I had been crying, carrying my sick pet into the room, running as fast as I could, trying to do all that I could to save her life. I went into the room, I was crying, trying to explain everything that happened in the past week, about her loss of apetite etc. She had been limping. So I asked her if she would please help me diagnose her. The vet said, she's just fine. I was determined and told her, there's really something wrong about her. She's not eating like usual, not acting like her usual self. I know it because she had been with me for months so I know how she was usually like.

Then, the vet said to me "JANGAN BUANG MASA SAYA LAH. DIA NI MUSCLE SPRAIN SAJA. SAYA TAK BOLEH BAGI UBAT APA-APA" I begged again so that she could look more into it. She kept pulling my guinea pig's limbs and claimed that she was having muscle sprain. I begged for her to give at least vitamin c so that her immunity system could stand. She kept saying, "JANGAN BUANG MASA SAYA". I was so furious because how could she not understand how much an owner's love towards his/her pet. How could I watch her die when I knew something was wrong with her but I couldn't do a thing about it??? I just grabbed the box and stormed off the door. The vet was shocked. 3 days later, my guinea pig DIED. I just wish to send a greeting card back to the vet to congratulate her on misdiagnosing my pet and TOLD ME THAT I WAS WASTING HER TIME!!!! wasting her time?? She's a vet, she's supposed to attend to my guinea pig and at least tried to refer my pet to another vet if she's incompetent. My guinea pig's death still haunt me. If she had no idea what to do, just tell me so I can go to another vet to save my guinea pig. SHE SAID TO ME I WAS WASTING HER TIME??? Which university did she graduate from? Never learn ethics is it?
Three months later, I found out that all her signs showed that she had middle ear infection.

Found 1 more vet in Puchong Kinrara, quite new, same row with the Old Town White Coffee in Bandar Kinrara, right opposite of the loading bay of Giant Bdr. Kinrara.

Just want to share my experience about this clinic. Today I brought my pet rabbit to this clinic , but the doctor was in a surgery and the clerk asked me to come back 1 hour later , although i said it was an emergency but I understand. My rabbit was already in a very bad condition today , yesterday she was fine , today she was lethargic and unable to move. The clerk say what Happen so i explain that She was having diarrea and became so weak , not eating or drinking. The clerk reply Cheh... Diarrhea only.. I was shocked at her reply but I'm like nvm... So I said okay and went to buy a drink and waited 1hour . I came back but there was 2 customer there already. They have dogs and it look super fine , and the clerk let them see the doctor first. The poodle was fast , but the chow chow did an x ray. I was rushing for tuition at 4.30 and the lady just ask me to wait again. Wait about 1 hour also not yet done. My bf got pissed , asked how long more and she gave him a BISH face and said 30 more minutes or more. He got really angry and threw the appointment card and asked me to leave. I could have went to a clinic at damansara with the time wasted. I went to tuition then bringing my bunny and she died while I was having tuition. There was another case previously where I asked if the vet knows how to treat guinea pig and she just took my guinea pig without replying me and let the doctor check , doctor say that skin problem only , give me cream , glucose water and charged me rm30. After a week , my guinea pig died. Guess what. He actually had mites eating his skin and colon problem , that's why he can't poop. I told the doctor he not pooping but she just say it's normal!? Wtf. I swear I will never ever go to this vet again.

ive sent my dog for a bath just once and i'll never go back there again.
Needless to say, something bad happened. Let just say they have no compassion or love for animals.

My personal experience with 3 different vets, whom I will still seek their service 

Use to go to St. Angel, Dr. Nancy ( chinese lady), very nice doctor, will take time to explain and answer your questions and details on your pets' health. But, if wanna book her and Dr. Ding for surgery, need to book early, even for consultation, sometimes ( especially weekends) will need to wait 'cuz a lot of people always go for their service. Personally, I don't have the luxury of time to wait cuz got work on weekends, so have to change.

Now I go to Dr. Dev clinic right behind of Giant Bandar Kinrara. Newly open, if not mistaken the clinic opened for jz 3 to 4 months only. Very nice doctor, pretty straight forward, spot problem tackle it, charges very reasonable ( his medicine price is lower compare to the previous vet I went to).

Another encounter with Dr Edmund was actually sending a rescue case over ( friend request to help to send over since Dr Edmund place is nearer to his house). Not bad too, but for the charges I'm not too sure since my friend is the one who settle the bills.
Would recommend you to to talk to the doctor, see which one you're comfortable with. =)

Dr. Dev posted on facebook about his new branch at oug. Heard good things about him. I'm still deciding on a vet. So, by recommendation i might go for dr. Dev or Companion vet clinic.

good to hear that Dr Dev has good rapport. I'm considering working at one of the new branches in Kota Damansara.
