Thanks matkela for the confirmation. I'm on partial setup and only got 2 back. Almost got charged the original non-GB price as well. Immediately after installation it was noticeably a firmer ride. No sound yet so far but I have not fully tested it yet. What I did notice was that when I roll slowly at say 20km/h and then jam the brakes, I felt the car slightly dive, squat, dive, squat, dive, stop. If you get what I mean. I'm not sure if I was delusional, hehe. Gonna do more tests after this. Also, is this wrapper here to stay for good?

QUOTE(ongweiping @ Dec 25 2012, 12:01 PM) I think it really is dust cover for the wrapping, mentioned in their facebook before. Need to find the link though. you mean only 2 abs installed at the rear? Front not yet install? That's why got the dive squat problem during brake? Their FAQ 004I am planning to get titanised this weekend too. How about the stock abs? they give back to you right? » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « They did all 4 abs already. At least that's what's on the bill anyway and all 4 abs look new. Matkela got all 4 stock abs back. I only got 2 back. I understand the wrapping is there to stop dust but is this how all inverted monotubes cover against dust? Or none of them bothered to cover it and only Titan put in an extra touch? QUOTE(Xai-V-iaX @ Dec 25 2012, 03:06 PM) I think everyone who are in the TITAN GB should know what they are in for. For an example: Thanks bro, not complaining about the shocks or the sacrifice of the front abs. I'm only contemplating about replacing the ugly plastic wraps with something that's more typical of other off-the-shelves like the dust cover on this:1- Those going for Partial Setup should know that your front abs will have to be sacrificed since they will have to cut and remove your coil mounting base to be welded on the TITAN abs. ***Don't make a fuss, you made the decision to stick with the current springs right? 2- YES, from what has been 'analyzed' the rears aren't Inverted 3- If you decided to fix them TITANs on any given days/dates, ENSURE you have called them up earlier (A few days in advance) and have stated clearly that you are coming to get the installation done. ENSURE that the abs are prep'ed based on your requirements. 4- IT'S BEST to go as early as possible, say 9.00am when they open so that you get the first que in the bay. Alternatively, read of MY EXPERIENCE at TITAN. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Other than that it's tests, tests and more tests before I head back to Penang. |

QUOTE(shelby_yong @ Dec 26 2012, 12:58 PM) Doesn't sound exactly like my car. I actually wanted to have a final test on the way back to Penang but I guess I'll share it now anyway since it may help you isolate the problem. The story began 2 weeks ago when I drove on a straight stretch of concrete (note: uneven) on NSE and my car started shifting left and right with the steering maintaining straight heading at 140km/h. This was the entire car shifting, not just the back. Also note that I'm on PS3 same as my old Waja so I expect certain behavior from the tires and shifting around on the road is not one of them. I slowed down and paid more attention to a few bends on NSE doing each at 120km/h, 110km/h and 80km/h. All of them shifted my car left and right depending on which way was the bend, with one of the bends taking my car dangerously close to the metal divider.I suspected my tires were either overinflated or that the air inside expanded causing the tires to bounce so I slowed. Thing I was puzzled was that I use nitrogen only, never on normal air, so that I can get a more consistent inflation. I got shocked when I pulled over in Bidor that the pressure was 40 PSI. Now I'm not sure if a heated tyre on nitrogen can inflate from 32 PSI to 40 PSI or that the shop which I pumped nitrogen from overinflated it for me. Mind you I still go for regular tyre checks at the shop every single month. So the tires were deflated to 30 PSI because I wanted to isolate tyre problems but the shifting problem was still there, just that much less severe now. It is there even at moderate speed of 60km/h on those roads with subtle humps or just plain uneven. My thought was that the prolonged use of overinflated tyres has overworked the dampers to keep the bouncy tires on the road and now it simply can't do it anymore. Perhaps the oil viscosity or the valves do not work as well anymore or that the newer batch uses different supplier I'm not sure. I'm not even sure if I'm making sense or just tin kosong making noise coz I'm not even a car enthusiast (I think) but I figured Titan came in at the right time. Swapped in Titan and all the hints of that shifting problem disappeared. I'm going to take on the NSE concrete stretch again to be doubly sure. That will happen on Jan 1. Please pardon me if I've been doing the TCSS thing with all the rants above. |

QUOTE(shelby_yong @ Dec 26 2012, 01:54 PM) nice share.. mine maybe the air inside the tyre over ad.. I think both Lancer and Inspira recommended 32 PSI but some foreign forumers wanted 34 PSI and it was still fine but you get more bounciness, not sure about tyre wear though. I suspect you may have uneven wear on top of bounciness i.e. loss of grip, only not sure how severe. Sifus here can help.recommended is 200 or 220 ?? i pump 220 for both QUOTE(nzh0920 @ Dec 26 2012, 01:54 PM) Definitely! Already tested my favorite bend on MRR2, not as good as those with full setup but I'm happy coz old man always forget to brake before bends! |

I wanted to add that the first post did mention Lancer has a tail-happy character and Proton took it away with smaller rear antiroll bar. Again, I may be just a rambling old man. Also wanted to add that my chassis has been stiffened with foam and the addition of front strut bar was after I had this problem though I somehow imagined the bar may contribute to the shifting problem.

Anyway, took out the wrapper on the rear shocks this morning, felt so sorry looking at Wai Loong and Uncle Richard's disappointed face but they did what the customer asked for.
Met Xai (I think) and Berzerker (again, I think) with XC on his way but too bad I couldn't stay for lunch. Hehe. |

QUOTE(shelby_yong @ Dec 26 2012, 12:42 PM) allignment is sterring shake ma.. Btw, need to correct this one. Alignment is for the car to travel straight when you intended it to without pulling to either side. Shaking commonly means balancing is out, assuming all other components are working correctly. No offense bro. now is the car butt... like shake here and there.. not very strong la |
