Very bad alignment could also cause bounciness or wheel hop. This includes bad camber or toe adjustment.

Oh yes, camber and toe, it's kinda possible too. Thanks wdarke.

QUOTE(matkela @ Dec 12 2012, 07:15 PM)
Opted for Titan partial set-up yesterday, group buy arrangements. Came home with guk guk guk sound at low speeds, heard at rear. Seen today after dismantling, that the left rear absorber rebounds very slowly after compression, thus making the sounds.
Richard told me the piston seal was too tight. They made good. Sound now negligible, a mechanic friend who later readjust my camber also agrees that there is no ground for concern.
I can now appreciate why many opted for full set-up, that has many suspension setting possibilities. Improvement in handling seen even with partial set-up. Regrets? None

QUOTE(ongweiping @ Dec 30 2012, 10:08 PM)
I'm in partial set, the sound i'm having not sure is the same with all you guys. Its like "thud thud thud" sound once car running for a while. Guess that is 10 mins - 15 mins drive after that. Easier to hear at low speed, maybe the engine sound overwrite the thud sound in high speed. The sound happen in the rear i think. hmm.gif
Not much leave to go titan shop there for troubleshooting.  rclxub.gif

QUOTE(Xai-V-iaX @ Dec 30 2012, 10:15 PM)
It could be because of the rear pistons. Am not sure which version pistons are in your shocks.
..but then again that's if its the same sound/problem that others faced as well. Can't tell till have tested your ride.  wink.gif

I'm sitting at Titan's workshop now with the same noise at rear left. I can't be sure if this is Proton or Titan's issue but after going back to previous posts I decided to bring my car back here for a final check before I head back to Penang tomorrow. Have a family trip to Ipoh this afternoon too, don't want to take the risk. Curious thing is why only rear left? Didn't have this noise until I brought it back to Titan to remove the plastic wrapping. Thought they resolved the issue for partial setup eh? Hehe. Padan muka. doh.gif

What would be the logical next step up from Titan, guys? One that's not too harsh?

wanna ask those who have inspira with original blaupunkt navigator...
does your menu have USB-2 & AV-IN 2????
PLEASE HELP....

These 2 ports are on the rear of the HU. You should only get the menu option if you have connected something to these ports, I believe. I'm connecting a jLink-USB cable to these rear ports to take video input directly from the iPhone.

Off the shelf abs like kyb but most will be for comfy. Next up - Tein perhaps  brows.gif but dun expect comfort... this partial setup is the most balance n customize-able abs u can find now.
*
Thanks bro, just wanted to know my options.
QUOTE(ongweiping @ Dec 31 2012, 02:47 PM)
Wa, so fast think others liao, haha. So the sound problem still not solved after today's visit to Titan? They did anything for troubleshooting?
Thanks for the explanation bro, I will try my luck to go there asking for re-installation again see if there is any luck with it.
This trial and error process really... haiz...  doh.gif
*
I think I'm having the same setup as Xai now IINM. They replaced the pistons and the noise is negligible now. It is not audible with the sound system on soft volume and aircond on. Turn off everything and let the car roll the noise sounded very faint, like muffled. WL did not acknowledge this faint noise but I'm actually quite happy with this setup already and will stick with these abs until it's time to service to find out if they have worked out a resolution yet. I must say when given the chance, UR and WL will listen to my feedback and attempt to resolve/mitigate the issue as Xai said.
QUOTE(vincentleong @ Dec 26 2012, 02:01 PM)
Definitely! Already tested my favorite bend on MRR2, not as good as those with full setup but I'm happy coz old man always forget to brake before bends!
*
The new abs solved the car shifting issue on uneven roads at high speed. I have regained traction in addition to much better handling. Tested this on the NSE 4 times already. tongue.gif
QUOTE(nzh0920 @ Dec 26 2012, 02:08 PM)
hahaha, anti roll bar diff purpose mah  blush.gif
*
Now I'm trying to figure out if the addition of a thicker antiroll bar to the already stiffened chassis will make me lose the sense of speed at bends. How's the hunt going on? I have not had time to make an appointment with K3 to install my autodim rearview mirror yet.

amin, rublik, vincentleong,
U fellas travel long distances. As u go ur abs gets heated, oil+gas in abs gets heated, chassis, wheels n linkages all gets heated. What do u fell happens to damping rate?? a bit harder or softer?
ur experiences please.
*
It felt firmer but my imagination tells me it's due to the speed rather than heat. Though my most recent trip had me thinking I need harder abs. I was travelling 160-180 at midnight and went through some dents on the highway it felt a bit shaky when it rebounds. I was thinking to adjust mine to partial hard and then I had a chat with one of our members. Now my plan is to switch to LGT springs to see if it helps. If it doesn't then I'm gonna switch back to stock springs and then harden the abs.

Hehe u will feel tempted to go stiffer setup..i knew coz i experienced it.
Vincent jes a friendly reminder, yes u can harden of stiffen up the abs, but bear in mind that the oem spring rate is low around 3.5kg mm so if u go stiffer abs the spring can bottom out easily n even introduce the unwanted ochestra music.
The next step is to find a stiffer spring e.g lgt , after market springor even evo x if can fit laa, then u go to titan to match back the abs damping with the new uprated spring. That is the limitation of partial setup.
*
Now that 2 mad rocket scientists have spoken and are saying the same thing, I'll take the advise and go LGT. Another fix. Hehehe.
QUOTE(selinix @ Jan 9 2013, 02:04 PM)

R3? How does it compare to LGT? And how about the Titan spring?

Yep, partial. I meant how will Titan full setup compare to partial with R3 or LGT spring. Damn, can I steal one of the full setup and take it for a spin on NSE? Why did T630's ride feel much firmer?

vincent if possible try to get the LGT and R3 spring and do some spring rate test at titan facility.. get to know their spring rate so that maybe we can share to all on the rates. maybe eibach, proride or what ever in the market...  LGT spring partial setup? none that i know of.. #095#
*
I'm getting the LGT springs and will have Titan test it out. Shouldn't Titan already have the spring rate for LGT since they've done Lancers before?
