I won't get eithr as l tink both are not great - Samsung brand has reliability issues and Sony - o well wat to say abt it - l guess if just playing ori, might consider - if not...
Id still go look for a cheapo player ..

Upscaled bdp worth it -- Ok la.. if u say so..
Tru 4k player is still a long way from commercial success.. I tink 1st is Panasonic which had a running prototype..
4k media aka disc is not yet out for commercial use.. I figure it would cost RM200+ in our local shops n maybe USD30+ in AMZ [ entirely, my guess.. ] when first release..
Regular Joes even in western countries are into SD ; even bds are not as popular except in Germany which is 50/50.. when 4k start appearing, first adopters will pay thru their nose..

IMO,

Upscaling gear is marketing gimmick only.. only de tru blu stuff gives u de detail eg.. upscaled dvdp compared to a bdp playing a HD bd - no comparison at all..

Of cos I m quite blur la..

I have said numerous times - litening deal is not wrth it as

1. we need to pay shipping - which means a new per order shpping charge of $5
2. waking up at an ungodly hour just for wat - a few bucks less..

Now l only go for regular sales title .. but most important must wrangle for free shiping..

I hv had bad experiences wif othr online sellers - refunds take weeks if not months.. n tis is those tat have been returned and not lost.. AMZ is de best alrdy..

I beg to differ.. My experiences are :
When I started ordering from AMZ.DE [Germany] n I were to ask for any favors - answer is always NO....
eg ask to add titles to existing open order - answer NO ;
ask to cancel multiple cps of a particular title , even thou' it is added [wrongly] by their own CS guys/gals - answer NO = ask to receive [and then return unwanted copies] or not receive [so tat package will be returned]
but lately [after about 2/3 mths] all questions/requests mostly entertain..
I tink they have a SOP - new customers have to fend for themselves ; older customers, they'll entertain..
At least for AMZ.DE .. la
