Older ttls - lets just say a lot cheaper..

Retail shops are of cos - instant gratification .. another dwnside is sometimes the special features/audio might be inferior..

Tats why shops like Speedy can survive - Instant Gratification is always a boon ; who wants to wait 4 wks when u can hold in ur hand when u buy..

Now if only they were selling em cheaper..
In tat light, Indian retailers sell their local productions a lot cheaper [ in comparison ] than our speedy-type shops ; why dont our local retailers do tat - I had to pay RM29 plus for the local movie, The Journey sumtime bck n it was SD . In comparison, India sells their local flicks[SD DVD too] for less than RM10 [equivalent ]

Take their info of their [AMZ] product info page as they are notoriously incorrect [ heck, they still mix SD together wif HD rvws ..]
Go to a separate [ like Blu-ray.com or bluray.lies.net ] to check up on rgn status..
In most instances , de ang moh dont really need chinese subs - safer to buy frm asian sites..

U do know there is no 4k media yet..
Let ur TV do the scaling ..
plus for de budget of 1k - if u were to find such a player ; at best is tat u get a mediocre chipset for its upscaler..

A medium range decent player [ bdp only ] like oppo 103 is already in the 2k's .. 1k will get u...??

U all kena con liao.. remastered in 4k but dwnscaled to fit a 1080p hd bd la.. at the very best - wat it means is tat it was decently copied from de master..

Panasonic just unveiled a 4k bdp n if not mistaken they have decided on a format for 4k - a 66gb dual layer and 100gb triple layer disc - gear wise not too sure whether need a total revamp or not..

If start also.. it wont be cheap or affordable..

I m not into regular TV's..

But if talking Projector screen sizes - 4k effectively will let you sit closer to the screen [ n so makes de 'big scrn' effect even more apparent ] - for instance now if you were to sit 3/4ft from de screen for a 1080p pj image, you can see de pixels and watnot artifacts very clearly - I tink 4k will shorten tis to 2/3ft n for a 8ft wide screen, thats substantial real estate indeed..

I m of the same mind - I hv almost upgrdd my media to HD [1080p] n l shudder to tink of a new format change to 4k n as of the moment - totally hv no intentions of upgrading - even when eventually it becomes available..
As l have said - l m totally happy wif my setup rite now, its hard to imagine 4k being so much better that l would want to spend tons of my hard earned money all over again..

But then its me, talkin nw .. cant really say wat will happen in 10 years time..
