Yeah. Many turn us down which made it so embarrassing for us. Didier Deschamps is one of them.

But for AVB, some reports said that FSG never wanted him even in the beginning. It was just some newspapers made up stories.

Bottom line is, the Yankee axe holder shouldn't have chopped our legendary King Kenny and his able assistant Steve Clarke. They were influenced by the 43% annoying SOB impatient fans calling for the head of the King. They need to realise that these fans will happily call for the chop as long as they feel like it.

Each time we lose, let's sack someone. Naive fans. I am still very bitter over this. If we had stay united in calling for King to remain, FSG would not dare to touch King Kenny.

Yankees will always be yankees. They need 5 years of education in England footballing philosophy.

if you want a definition of poor business sense, it's dishing out 35m for carroll and 20m for an old downing.

55m down the drain a costly transfer window which rightly sets us back for as long as 5 years.

if that doesn't warrant a sacking, i dunno what does.

That argument can easily be reversed if King stayed, Caroll scored like 11 goals now and Downing playing a pivotal role in assist.

Of course we wouldn't know because that story has ended.

Can't he get at least half a season more to justify his purchases and make up for it? I'm sure he will work his socks off for us and will go down trying. If he still fails, hands up, he should go. He would probably do himself the honor of stepping down.

And yet some people can find positives in it and say we are improving. rclxms.gif

Let's face it. We are improving. In 2002, we hoof the ball to Heskey who use his chest to take it down and pass to Owen to run through.

In 2005, Stevie G makes dashing run in.

In 2008, we have combination of long ball and dashing run in but still no possession control fully via tiki taka.

And now we have the complete skills via tiki taka, long ball, nutmeg, dash in but oops we don't have target man and can't convert properly but yeah we are improving. tongue.gif

if not mistaken, the fee for Downing is kinda set by the market, even back then Arsenal were willing to pay 20m for Downing...and they are still chasing Downing.
MU also paid about 17m for the other half of the villa wing - Ashley Young...did they overpay? i dont think so.

and why 55m?
the season we signed Carroll, LFC actually still made 5m overall from the sales of other players...most of which of cos came from Torres.
meanwhile the season we signed Downing, we also signed Hendo, Enrique, Coates and of cos brought back Bellamy for free...

i dont really see that as reasons for getting sacked.
the goons already said that even if kenny won the FA Cup he would still be leaving / sacked...mostly due to not finishing good enough in the PL.
as stated already...Kenny was just helping to stabilize the club...he was more of a reluctant hero asked to take over for awhile...
he could've easily said no...then who knows where the club would be heading halfway thru that season without anyone in charge.

but the way the goons handled it is pretty crappy, and i'm sure dalglish still harbors some ill feelings towards those goons in charge as hes only returned to anfield once since he got sacked.

If things don't get better, perhaps Carra will say " That's it! 1 more year for whoever is in charge. If nothing changes, i am taking over!" laugh.gif

There is a reason why BR purposely underachieve. He wants to create love-hate relationship with us so that we will remember him forever.

He looks hopeless this season and then next season he win us the BPL suddenly the club will build a statue for him as the man who overcome a 20 over years hoodoo. tongue.gif

Since cannot find a manager that everyone wants, Carra seems ideal..Kop Idol and a great understanding of the game. laugh.gif

I don't think any supporters dare to put up that banner. He will shout at you until you pee in your pants..maybe even throw a boot at you.. biggrin.gif

if it means competition to reina, i'm up for it. if reina is sold as the result of it (jan transfer), we are just shooting ourselves on the foot.

i would think butland is coming in as replacement for jones, as we got the FA Cup coming up soon also...so that reina can just concentrate on the PL.

Have we improved based on results? Yet some people wanted Kenny sacked despite valid arguments in his favour. Now the same people want BR sacked. Hmm...

Four seasons, four managers - Liverpool’s league record after 19 games

2012/13 Brendan Rodgers W6 D7 L6 GD2 Pts 25 – 10th

2011/12 Kenny Dalglish W9 D7 L3 GD9 Pts 34 – 6th

2010/11 Roy Hodgson W7 D4 L8 GD-1 Pts 25 – 9th

Improving? Rodgers officially equalled Woy's point tally at the same stage of the season the only reason BR hasn't been hounded out is because he's good with his words and the happy clapping contingent believes everything that comes out of his mouth whilst Woy was a PR disaster

Can't believe BR has pulled the wool over so many people's eyes with the teams' woeful results. rclxms.gif

It's effing obvious we haven't improved in terms of results. No one would disagree. Kenny did better than his predecessor and yet he was sacked. Rodgers is doing worse and by that reckoning he should be sacked. Yet he is the boss and we should want him to succeed in what he is striving to achieve.

To look purely at results without considering the circumstances of each manager's reign is naive. If it were based purely on results, Rafa did incredibly bad in his last season compared to the season before but did he deserve the sack?
