Take only lar... if all fails, we can have a small gathering at Puchong. I won't be drinking much though, got a 7am flight to catch the following day.
Added on January 3, 2013, 11:09 amWe're facing Mansfield for the FA Cup this Sunday, would be a good chance to field our young players. Lineup predictions anybody?
Jones Wisdom - Carragher - Coates - Robinson Allen - Henderson - Shelvey Sterling - Sturridge - Suso
completely changing the squad? the seniors need some game time as well to prepare for January 13th
It's been long coming since Mr. Down Down Baby perform so consistently. Thanks to the master work of BR, he finally looks like a good player that can contribute week in and week out.
I have been outright critical of him but now I am glad I can put my sword down.
So Congrats to Mr. Down
dont get carried away now. he might prove us wrong yet again!
The game against sunderland is quite different from what we have seen before under rodgers. Noticeably; 1)Gerrard make long pass to striker. In the other games, he will pass to the player that are closest to him. 2)Reina ball distribution to start counter attack. Before this, he will takes time and throw or kick the ball to his defender.
i didnt get the chance to watch the game early this morning but i can see that many here saying that Gerrard's playing like he used to. you also said that Reina initiates counter attacks. also like what he used to do.
perhaps BR was containing the old style of play in them to a certain point to be unleashed where they'll recover their form back?
I don't think Gerrard is playing like he used to behind Torres. There was the occasional lung busting run or two, but he was largely more patient with the ball, looking for the runs of our forwards rather then embarking on one by himself. Henderson was playing in the more advanced midfield position and did a really good job there. Gerrard can do it all but under Rodgers, his primary role is to create, not score. Like I mentioned earlier, his play this morning reminded be exactly of what Xabi Alonso did for us.
Lets hope we find some consistency.
i always thought that was his role before Alonso came along, no?
Gerrard is a one-man task force and it will hard to pick out something he can't do. Gerrard was always played in an advanced midfield position, going as far forward as playing off the striker. He could always distribute, score and create from anywhere. He also had a free role for much of his career, meaning we'll see him defending one minute and charging up the pitch the next. He doesn't have the legs to do that over the full 90 anymore which means he has had to limit his contributions to a smaller area on the pitch. I think it's testament to Rodgers' coaching prowess that he's found a way to get the best out of a player who was off form early in the season. Playing Gerrard in a deeper role raised doubt in the minds of a section of fans. In fact, you'll see comments on forums suggesting that Gerrard reprise his role of playing off the shoulder of the striker.
In summary, Gerrard still does what he does but because his finishing has suffered lately, he's focusing on creating. His first instinct now from what I've noticed is to look up and look for runners. I suppose it's a valid point that he still does what he does, expect from a deeper position.
i never favour him to play an advanced position tho. i always like him right in the center where he can see and create everything. his long passes are extra ordinary to me
He formed a good partnership with Torres in that role though but yeah, I like him more in the middle, especially now. Not uncommon for players to play different, roles, often deeper as they age. Ryan Giggs now plays in the middle of the park. Ruud Gullit was an attacking midfielder in his younger days and dropped back to a really deep midfield role as he got older. Gerrard is moving in that direction.
tho he can't defend and attack as fast as he used to, at least he's doing what he does best now while IMO finally filling the gap left open by Alonso when he left
Then just combined them both at our games and let them both shake their booty. Hehe. Our players will turn on God mode and destroy other teams with ease.
need them to shake their booty to the team more often for immunity so that only our opponents will go
No la. I'll book for 40 and leave it up to them how they want to spread the tables. Don't reckon they'll give us one mega one. Yup, MyRAWK will be joining. So far about 18 confirmed. They'll post it up on our FB page as well. First come, first served for the rest since we've no idea how many will turn up. I reckon LFC will conquer Bar Tres at least. We can fit people inside as well if it gets too packed outside.
just a suggestion, ask anyone who's wearing liverpool jersey within eyesight range to join u guys. the more the merrier?
Huh? Everyone buy their own drinks la. You can drink your own juice if you want
i think he was referring to the incident where Liverpool fans ask an m.u fan to take off his shirt during Liverpool's training session at bukit jalil last year
