I would recommend using acrylic paints instead of enamel and lacquer. Never experienced any cracking when painting china kits with acrylic. As for the masking, did you use low-tac tape like Tamiya or Mr. Hobby brand? It seems like the masking tape was taken off either too early or too late. Here's a pic of my unicorn painted with airbrush acrylic, with some shading and masking for parts color separation:

Hi pawces, I saw what u did. Hats off n respect. I use tamiya masking tape n mr. Hobby paint. Maybe I peel off the masking too long, after three days or so. The cracked happen on joints such as torso, hands and shoulder connector. I won't hav tis problem on other original kit even after layers of lacquer paint. Plan to get arcrylic paint but not much choices here.

maybe it's too many layers.. obviously you cant compare with original for the price u are paying.. just have to change your methods or technique a little bit to suit the quality of the item u are working on

for sure it's not a bootleg kit, it's an 'original' kit, but it's still made in China, you can't compare with B*nd*i

yhzell, look a few pages back at the GoGo HiNu which I airbrushed. No problems at all!

Anyway, heres another. I started this Nightingale on Sat, and wanted to finish by the end of the year, but I got lazy. Finished it today, so I guess its the first kit for 2013. It prob will be the last SD I build as I bought this on impulse. It was a simple build but painting was a hassle with masking needed. I reckon the red is a little too dark, so Ill go mix in some more silver for future builds(1/100 Nightgale, Sinanju, Shin Musha, etc)





Next up will be the 1/144 Meteor kit together with an RG Freedom? Who wants a review? Since not many of you guys are wanting to purchase GHD kits, lol.

a review would be nice! actually i'm a bit keen on trying my hand at a GHD kit for a while now, but i haven't been able to find one for a reasonable price.. those i've seen are in those toy shops that can go up to almost an original's price!

nice EX-S @limfreelance ! noticed the shoulders... did you use the conversion kit or modify it yourself? I plan on opening up the shoulders myself similar to G-Systems EXs.

thats the inner armor for the shoulders, i believe.. I recall thinking the hidden portion was far more detailed than the outer armor

I open up shoulder bcos got extra ammor (ORANGE AMMOR). The internal item (kipas) is cabut from command wolf heavy gun pack & alittle bit accesories from BT liger (extra part). Planing to add several metal Pipes Tubes on it to make it look like under contraction. But metal Pipes Tubes really expensive & i drop the idea. That y i cover the 2 holes in the cheast will black cap (from command wolf bolt.)
