... from RM5k repair brake now to 12 yeas continous repair on your wira? which is which? you better make up your mind and stop twisting your words.

TS.. Do you think RM5k repair for the past 12 years for a Proton Car is cheap? Now he just said it's cheap not me..

You're twisting my words. I never said its cheap. READ PROPERLY.

You better make up your own eyes, and wear more thicker spectacles.

it run ron95 , can use mineral oil.

timing belt dayco 100k rm280 install rm110-120

oil filter share same with proton waja

replaceable air filter rm18-20 ,

wheel bearing share same with aveo ,

plug cable + distributor , comes together just rm180 .

taiwan, local , ignition coil , better than original

everything is cheaper since mass produce ,

so indirectly u are hearsay only..........

well said, i have a savvy hline in my stables and i can safely say it never produced any problems to me. All i did is find a Renault specialist workshop to service my Savvy, and since then the car never gave me problems at all.

Just make sure dont go back to Proton or normal workshop for repairs and service, they know nuts. Go for Renault specialist.

Hello,

Thanks for the suggestion sifus of fast and furious forum sub-section.

Ok. Since it's really hard for me to digest, I would be honest with my whole situation now.

1) I have a quite old kancil and would like to upgrade, thus the proton savvy since it's 1.2l, usage of around 2-4 years only, everything is good except for the maintenance fees... (car mileage around 40k km to 50k km) - is this considered good for a few years car?
2) is it possible to find renault car service centre in ipoh?
3) I prefer an auto transmission but if manual, i can think of getting it as well
4) budget of rm 10k-15k is what my parents offer me
5) planning to use the car for at least 6-8 years

I am getting a 2nd hand car, so i dont think the 2nd hand or 3rd hand value suggestion matters since I wont be selling it away till many years to come and most importantly, by that time , I would have change to a better car.

Thus, would like to ask, savvy really do have a lot of problems? that's why people are selling it cheap? or is it because it has stopped production? It's really scary to see a good car at only rm 10k-15k with only 2-4 years of usage.

I'm only solely talking about MT as AMT really have alot of problems and i wouldnt want to waste my money to change the gearbox that might cost rm10k??

Sorry if I sounded noobish, the course I'm studying is totally unrelated to such automobile topics smile.gif

Thanks alot!

The main reason 2nd hand savvy selling cheap because most of the people got brainwashed that all savvy is problematic car. Yes, the amt version is problematic but not the manual. The manual is pretty good, renault engine is reliable and so much better than campro. Savvy wins many award in fuel consumption before viva existed.

2. Renault ipoh service centre

Thanks so much for the information. Well, guess savvy might be the ideal car for me then. How do we check whether a savvy is a good deal or not? in terms of mileage, years of usage, manual transmission?

Savvy gets a bad rap because Proton does not know how to service and repair it, more so for the AMT variant.

Those enthusiasts who knows where and how to maintain the car, very few have complaints about it.

get the facelifted version after year 2007. Mileage doesn't really matter just make sure timing belt is change... new... make sure it's manual.. drive the car no jerking and smoth transmission in and out and so on so forth. get as cheap as possible if can find 10k then get the 10k. spend about rm2k.. you can nearly refurbish all the lubes and rubbers in the savvy.

Timing Belt Kit Rm300 dayco.. some can get cheaper
Ignition cable and coil RM600 renault original - can be bought separately
modify tdc sensor rm30
gearbox oil rm200 - make sure it Elf Tranself NFJ 75W-80
Engine oil 10w-30/4-0 - rm80 - rm120
brake fluid, brake service kit, front rubbers - RM50 - 2 bottles, RM120, RM80
If too much vibration .. nego for more discount - change all engine mounting around rm550 - rm650 depending where you get it done
turn your steering to the right. Check under the wheel arch if there is brown oil dripping it means the suis needs changing ady.. nego another rm310 for that

other than that it's all bushes and rubber as well.

WOW! thanks dude! really informative...

Hmmm savvy after year 2007 are all facelifted? i saw one with R3 body kit and it looks good... can i consider even that? hmmmm i kinda worried about the mileage... wow the cost of changing the parts also cost so much... means most likely i will have to get a rm10k car and try to upgrade as much as possible?

how about other cars such as wira or iswara or blm saga?

PLease test drive the savvy first.

The clutch is a pain.

But you can never find a good small car that feels safe at high speed such as the savvy (within that budget).

I sold mine coz i had excess of cars which i was not using. i drive hard. Jumping off holes and bumps and the car is still firm and can go straight (no major alignment required). I kissed into a kerb once which required some repairs to the rear wheel. Note that you do not have to realign the rear wheels.

check out savoc.net for more info.

If it was not for my ligament, i would have bought another one.

First, it's savvy, then Wira, now 'continual repair'..next, maybe you include normal routine service and change engine oil and pump petrol also???
I think this statement has just proven you to be an idiot or a liar or both. Take your pick.

Bro those parts are tear and wear part la. Most of the car would also need to change them unless it's a brand new car la. Iswara timing belt is cheaper bout rm200 all in but you gonna get a box running around lor. and FC gonna suffer for a little. not too much. Wira? err too old ady.

As long as you think it looks good then you can give it a test ride. That's why buying a savvy is a + point. you can get something as cheap as possible, then slowly refurbish them yourself. Btw the list provided isn't necessary for you to change all of them biggrin.gif Only change them when it's needed to. haha

Matrix and kidmax...all proton nutcase and nutjobs.

No wonder you nutjobs are stuck with protons, you spend so much on them that you can't afford better cars.

Good luck to travel back to the dark ages...

You are an even bigger idiot than I thought.

Actually, it's quiet a comfortable ride, way better than a Mawi which i used to own. But yes, it is a bit underpowered. But can't expect much from the 1.2cc engine.

Look, at least I honest about proton cars.

But since you proton ultras want to defend your cars to end of the earth be my guest.

Don't come crying momma when your proton cars skid all over the place.

Reason why you see the world is dumb because you are dumb.

You will pay the price for being a proton ultra.

Good luck in your stupidity. If you car accident due to your over-reliance on its defects, you only have yourself to blame. I hope I don't find you between the mangle wreck of your super proton car.

What to do? Myvi don't have electronic break assist and stability system. Not saying that cars with those will not hv accidents but will reduce the probabilities.

This raining season, so far I saw three proton accident cause massive jam - one fell into a ditch beside plus highway.

I better change my proton car before I end up one of the fatalities.

Nobody's twisting your words. You said clearly you spent 5K on brakes and then when questioned on why so expensive, you then said it was 12 years of repair bills and not one shot.

Don't go insulting people if you cannot remember what you said.

And just in-case you can't remember what you said...

Don't go for proton second hand cars. They have really bad disc brakes. I spent like 5k on the disc brake, my car still skids and don't break too well.
