QUOTE(julchin_09 @ Apr 2 2006, 03:26 AM) My usb fan had those foam blades and the whole body appendage/neck was made of bendable metal so that you can adjust to the shape that you wanted. It cost be about RM15 then about 2 years back. I would say that it was ok at the beginning but after a while the speed would vary suddenly becoming slow then fast again. I think it was a problem with my motherboard or the USB port. In the end it died and always needed a knock to get it rotating. Before it died, everytime I plug it into my lappie and ON it you can see the screen suddenly going dim. I finally chucked the bloody thing as my lappie also collapsed at the same time. Bought a new lappie after that and a proper lappie cooler.... ok. Confirmed. That's the USB fan that I saw last time. Wow... I didn't know that the USB fan will cause a chaos. But nvm, it's worth a try. My lappie still got warranty in case the fan cause my motherboard to go "hangus". Hehe...

Hey guys, do you think it's possible to buy a not so expensive laptop cooler and change the fan in it?

If speedfan cannot read your temp sensors, then use your hand. I'm serious, use hand. You'll know how hot is hot after using your laptop for some time.

But I'm abit lazy, so I thought of buying a cheap cheap one and pluck off its fan and install a poWERful fan into it.
