I'm not sure about a cable that long cuz the above speed test is using a 3G stick and Wi-Fi signal only.. didn't use LAN cable.. I believe if I'm connected to Unifi through LAN cable, the speed would be more consistent.
*
bro , if without UniFi what was your Maxis IDM speed?

Wat package was your UniFi?

can you spell out your setup and the cost to do it via the Connectify Dispatch

thanks

I don't have a very expensive setup lol.. I'm using E398 and in my area (Puchong), my average IDM speed would range around 20-22Mbps.. As for my Unifi, I'm only connected via Wi-Fi (BTU straight to router) but the speed averages from 23-24Mbps.

One thing I do know is, using Dispatch.. you can use multiple 3G sticks to get better speeds.. doesn't have to be from different providers. Or, you can use Wi-Fi + 3G Stick + Phone tethering etc. Since my iPad/iPhone is Maxis as well.. I can tether it, add the E398 and Unifi.. the speeds can go higher.. maybe around 58Mbps or more.. but too many wires haha so I just use 3G modem and Wi-Fi only.
*
How much the Dispatch cost and is it easy to setup?

If the price is factor to post here, pls PM me

Thanks

It depends on how you see it la.. for me, I was previously a subscriber, so the package only costs RM140 for lifetime bundle.. it will help if you have other networks to bridge.. I prefer the Dispatch because I travel a lot, so it's software based application, and I don't have to bring along the hardware, just my laptop.. 3G stick, plus a phone.. I can combine all these together with ease without a load balancer smile.gif
*
rm290 for lifetime is a Steal thumbup.gif

just divide it by 29mths, its only rm10/mth , wat, la a pack of Lunhill also rm10.20 ady, moreover i dun smoke, see my savings and where those Lunhill savings go to ? icon_idea.gif

You need serious help.

List out your situation

1) location
2) modem used
3) did you set the parameters correctly.

what kind of modem is that?

Huawei ? or just a MiFi, care to show ?

I guess you should at least buy a E1762 or E220 to do diagnostic or if you have the budget, get a E372

then we can help you to achieve good speed

trust Thread Starter, he have wat it takes to make your connection smooth and fast icon_idea.gif

bring it back to Maxis and exchange for a Maxis Branded E372, then buy a Panel Antenna from TS, then your speed will be stable. icon_idea.gif

If you have cash to splash, buy a Vigorfly200 for rm300, they you can fly

Good thing abt E372 is that you can use MDMA ( V11~latest) to chk your area's signal (RSSI) and also your Cell ID.

With this info on hand, you can knoe exactly where to place the modem to get better signal , by using an extension usb (USB3.0 better) cable. A TP Link MR3420 would be much better as the Router will sufficiently power the Cable and Modem with 1A of electrical power ( if via usb port of the pc/lappie ~ 0.5A only)

Your current MiFi is power by battery, the lower the battery the signal will degrade , hence the speed sucks.

In areas where signal is not that good, esp East Malaysia, MiFi is not suitable because the signal is not as strong like some Metro areas of West Malaysia , namely Muntri st Area ( Penang ) PJ area ( Selangor) Dengkil/Nilai ( Near Putrajaya) and ofcourse Putrajaya itself. What more a MiFi's battery will slowly degrade as usage gets longer hence the signal also degrade and speed plunge.

E372 have antenna port to accept External Antenna to boost up the signal, you can use a Panel Antenna to get better signal/speed. Its easier to use compared to a Yagi where you have to point directly to the Tower location. I know a case where the user use an Antenna Signal booster to s"suck" signal 20KM from the tower, He spent a few thousands to acquired the relevant equipment because if not he would have to drive 25KM from his home to have internet access and you knoe those roads in East Malaysia kampong is not that good too........
