I ady mentioned ~ last mth my place was 16000/8640 speed = 7Mbps

Last week QoS was 42000/8640 but speed = 6Mbps

Conclusion: Either Maxis dun turn on the switch for 42000 or that they Load Balancing our Bandwidth.

In my place previously QOS capped at 16mbps...i managed to get half of speed around 7-8mbps and now QOS capped at 42mbps and i managed  around 15- 20mbps..speed totally improved and fast smile.gif
*
Your place user density is low lo........mine is high sad.gif

Same as Blacktubi location , Tower at line of sight , speed <2mbps , but @ Chuah's Towers ( yeah a few of them ) just if front of his window, QoS 16000, his DL Max out at 2MBps aka 16Mbps icon_idea.gif because users there dun use Maxis biggrin.gif

same like me 16 - 20mbps, distance from tower also affected the speed, may be i go to that tower to do testing.
*
Camp below the tower, dun worry no snake,centipede or mosquito there cause they will avoid the place due to Radiation emitted by those equipment. Do test there , sure MAX out the QoS like our fren's place there. icon_idea.gif laugh.gif

But bring along some Panadol Active Fast to block the pain signal to your brain la...... tongue.gif

The upload speed is amazingly high.

Laugh, your JieJie pays rm140/mth and her Internet is limited to the RK house, and you pay rm99 and no limit, can bring to Langkawi, Hanoi , PD and PJ, moreover your speed is better than her.

This is mine.

Is it stable ? rssi ? download speed ?

RSSI = 85~99

To me all are hot.
I have all except Sierra.
So my opinion is valid. rolleyes.gif
Don't need to keep defending it because it is really hot.
I'm not against E398 but Huawei is popular for heat.

Added on December 24, 2012, 12:55 pm
Actually I can get more than that in PD. smile.gif
*
If its not hot, its fried ~ 'dead fish'

Only smart pipu like Hot Stuff ~ now E173 and E1762 is cold stuff cause no one wans it.

Hot means the chips inside are working for the money spent.

My other modems like e1762,e220,mf622,mf190,mf691,e367,e355,umg1831 are all cold cause i dun use them anymore ~ btw, E5331 is not bad actually brows.gif can bring it everywhere to test QOS42000 , better than E355

Personally, I'd avoid pinging one IP address all the time especially to a popular server like Google's DNS. Most modern servers nowadays will start to block your packets to their server if they suspect it to be a DDOS attack of some sort. As long as you don't cross over their threshold limit, you'll be good. But not all servers have the same threshold, I'd prefer to avoid doing that completely.  icon_rolleyes.gif
*
Anyway to prevent DDOS attack on our system ( MR3420 stock or OpenWRT FW ) ?

so......e398 not good device? hope someone that have e398/mf680/e372 can make comparison as will waste money for useless modem
*
who said E398 no good ?

i currently have e372 , mf680 and e398 should reach me in time for boxing day

stay tuned brows.gif

currently, i can say , based on what i have tested at the same location and time, no usb extension cable, no antenna , no router just plain usb modem direct plug in.

e372 = 6Mbps
mf680 = 7Mbps
e355 = 4Mbps
e5331= 4.5Mbps ~ i hang it up the celling in a "fish net bag"
e367 = 4Mbps
e1762 = 3Mbps
e220= 2Mbps
mf600= 1.5Mbps
mf691= 3.5Mbps
umg1831= 3.5Mbps
e398 = coming soon

Actually E398 is good if you don't have E372 or MF680 before this. With Maxis' current infrastructure, you really expect a big jump? That's not going to happen. E398 is not a God and will turn your slow speed to high speed. smile.gif

Anyway, it probably can shine only when the real day comes.

Somebody might not like my honest post and keep defending it is a good modem. smile.gif
*
I strongly believe its location dependent.

Let me share my experience on boxing day when i am suppose to receive and unbox it to play on it

No, i dun believe it have anything related to hatred.

I also believe your assessment is unbiased too.

Just that its Location dependent. remember you used to clock 15Mbps , so wat is 12Mbps on a E398 ?

Mine is different as my current speed is abt 7Mbps. Anything > 10Mbps iI am super happy that my money works for me.

yes, i just wan 10mbps, anything more i will be super happy

btw, this is YES on a Silent Night
