I ady mentioned ~ last mth my place was 16000/8640 speed = 7Mbps
Last week QoS was 42000/8640 but speed = 6Mbps Conclusion: Either Maxis dun turn on the switch for 42000 or that they Load Balancing our Bandwidth. |

QUOTE(winyap991 @ Dec 23 2012, 02:55 PM) same like me 16 - 20mbps, distance from tower also affected the speed, may be i go to that tower to do testing. Camp below the tower, dun worry no snake, centipede or mosquito there cause they will avoid the place due to Radiation emitted by those equipment. Do test there , sure MAX out the QoS like our fren's place there. But bring along some Panadol Active Fast to block the pain signal to your brain la...... |

QUOTE(fruitie @ Dec 24 2012, 12:54 PM) To me all are hot. If its not hot, its fried ~ 'dead fish'I have all except Sierra. So my opinion is valid. Don't need to keep defending it because it is really hot. I'm not against E398 but Huawei is popular for heat. Added on December 24, 2012, 12:55 pm Actually I can get more than that in PD. Only smart pipu like Hot Stuff ~ now E173 and E1762 is cold stuff cause no one wans it. Hot means the chips inside are working for the money spent. My other modems like e1762,e220,mf622,mf190,mf691,e367,e355,umg1831 are all cold cause i dun use them anymore ~ btw, E5331 is not bad actually |

QUOTE(maxcheam @ Dec 24 2012, 01:57 PM) Personally, I'd avoid pinging one IP address all the time especially to a popular server like Google's DNS. Most modern servers nowadays will start to block your packets to their server if they suspect it to be a DDOS attack of some sort. As long as you don't cross over their threshold limit, you'll be good. But not all servers have the same threshold, I'd prefer to avoid doing that completely. Anyway to prevent DDOS attack on our system ( MR3420 stock or OpenWRT FW ) ? |

QUOTE(fruitie @ Dec 24 2012, 08:33 PM) Actually E398 is good if you don't have E372 or MF680 before this. With Maxis' current infrastructure, you really expect a big jump? That's not going to happen. E398 is not a God and will turn your slow speed to high speed. I strongly believe its location dependent.Anyway, it probably can shine only when the real day comes. Somebody might not like my honest post and keep defending it is a good modem. Let me share my experience on boxing day when i am suppose to receive and unbox it to play on it |

QUOTE(fruitie @ Dec 24 2012, 08:46 PM) Definitely. No, i dun believe it have anything related to hatred.Anyway, I retract my comments as I don't wish to create more hatred on this thread. After all, who am I to comment here? Have a nice day and I'll not post here that often anymore. I also believe your assessment is unbiased too. Just that its Location dependent. remember you used to clock 15Mbps , so wat is 12Mbps on a E398 ? Mine is different as my current speed is abt 7Mbps. Anything > 10Mbps iI am super happy that my money works for me. yes, i just wan 10mbps, anything more i will be super happy btw, this is YES on a Silent Night ![]() |
