Disaster Rom v4 lockscreen freeze is not fully fix. I had my 3rd freeze
since flashed last night. I guess the fix on v4 is partial only. It freezes less than v3. Haizzz... need another update fix??
*
All the leak rom also like that.
Haiz, but even so, I prefer it over cm10 volume bug.

Able to use wifi direct n mhl is a big plus for me.

What's the average for s2?

I using disaster rom under clock to 1ghz also higher than u. Haha. Never try this benchmark before, but benchmark r not accurate. Dun take then seriously.

Just like quadrant, this benchmark crazy one. I remove under clock let it run at default clock speed get 8k. So under clock actually gives higher performance. Weird right?

In quadrant I get 4.6k if under clock to 1ghz.
But it run normally get about 3k.
Further proof benchmark is pointless. user posted image

How come you guys can get such high results? Benefits of a different roms? am currently on stock roms with codeworks kernel, rooted, only can get around 7k on my g version. sad.gif
*
i9100G GPU is very much inferior than non g.
its obvious in benchmarks,
but in real world usage the difference is barely noticable,

try nenamark benchmark, thats the benchmark for GPU performance,
non g easily get >40.
g version on ics stock rom i think between 29-35.

but stress again, dun pay too much attention to benchmark,
real world usage, its barely noticable. i couldn't tell the difference at all when i was using my friends s2 g version.
feels and looks the same as mine only. camera, gallery, browser, all apps works same only.

jellybean 4.2,
99% of the cool/important stuff already available right now in 4.1.2 cm10/aokp/pa/samsung JB.
(new camera, photo sphere, new clock, gesture keyboard, new google now, new swipable gmail)

whats missing are the very minor/useless stuff.
~quick settings panel (which is totally useless, never once use it at all, cm10 toggles are way better)
~minor extra animation in recent app list.
~different way of telling you permissions when install apps in play store (nothing major, no one reads it anyway)
~multi user (only available on tablet, useless on tablet too due to nexus tablet having limited storage)
~day dream, if you have a dock, it activate screen saver. (words cant describe how stupid/useless this feature is)
~lock screen widget (which is quite useless imo, due to limited widgets. i mean just unlock and get to your full widgets in homescreen isnt that better? rclxub.gif )
~miracast, somekind of wireless HDMI thing (i think most of us dont have TV that support it anyway)

but anyhow, its nice developers still taking care of s2. thumbup.gif

intro of 4.2 features

Dear samsung rom lovers.

Just when I though disaster rom is the best, check out this alliance rom

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2037363

Basically it's everything disaster rom has, plus

~full lidroid toggles, like in cm10.
~customizable toggles
~AOSP theme!!! 90% similar to aosp style!! Beautiful
~new lockscreen, blackberry, Optimus ui, Acer.
~transparent multi Window slider
~customizable status bar
~ota kitchen, similar like check rom.

If you are using disaster or other samsung rom, just flash without wipe. Works perfectly. At least for my case. Samsung roms are really catching up. Love it. But the lock screen freeze still happens occasionally.

I guess SGS2 developmet cycle is almost come to its end ?
*
The awesomeness of a rom does not depend on how frequent the updates,

But by how few bugs that exist.
Less bugs, the better the rom.

maybe neat, coz can customize toggles thumbup.gif
after moving back to sammy stock roms i dont like AOSP themed roms anymore, they're just black and dull
i prefer the colourfulness of stock roms, makes me happier when i see my phone  laugh.gif
*
Neat rom? Since when it can customize toggles?
Similar to wanam its the most feature deprived rom.
Plain stock with philz kernel only.

Disaster rom is the one can customize.
I would recommend alliance rom, but you say you dun like aosp theme.

Me too become attracted to samsung rom for working Hdmi n wifi direct. Don't see myself going back to aosp.

need help here , when i flash NeatROM Lite v4.0 ,
why kernel version like this ?
3.0.31-462349seinfra@SEP-111 #3 SMP PREEMPT Tue Nov 6 ...........

it should XXLSJ-PhilZ_3.5  right ?
** anyone have USB JIG ?
*
Mine same also. Philz kernel is stock leak samsung kernel.

The performance n battery life is same. He never tweak anything. So I think the kernel version is that original record of the leak.

i prefer samsung roms now
although they look childish but the functionality is there
and not as dull as AOSP ones.., more colour!  laugh.gif
*
It's a lot better then old touch wiz.
The one in jb is much different compared to gb and ics.

But I still prefer the aosp looks.
Alliance rom is aosp themed. So really perfect for me.
If can fix lockscreen responsive issue and add status bar slide brightness control, then even more sweet.

I prefer aosp lockscreen too, but widget locker solved it:-)

Friendcaster isn't that good also. Complicated ui.

But dude, this new fb 2.0 is superb. Instant load pic. Very fast n intuitive. Definitely give it another try. Read the play store review if my words alone are not enough.

On my tablet I used to use Chrome for fb.
But now I just use the app. The app is actually faster than chrome nw.
This were completely different before fb2.0 where the browser is faster than app. Lol...

Faster maybe not, smoother yeah. S2 is already fast.  tongue.gif Samsung JB stock rom is really good, you should try it. In fact users on note 2 are getting great experience on stock rom including myself. Since S2 and S3 JB rom is similar to note 2 rom, it is just as great.
*
I agree new tw is very nice. Using it too.
But it's a leak version.
No complete jkay mods features. And got lockscreen freeze bug when on wifi.

After official full version release I hope it'll get better.
But even as a leak wit bug. I prefer it over aosp roms.

Ok i've been reading about this root exploit. It seems like a very less fuss way to root your device but what is this about security issues. I'm quite lost tongue.gif
*
Basically any apk u installed, it can have root access without you knowing. It will perform root stuff without asking your permission also. So it's quite dangerous

But I'm not really that concern. Since I never install new apps for a long time. Lol...

But the thing is, maybe 5% of the users know this only. The other 95% clueless casual users just using it only.

However the risk is there and very real. Especially now it's announced, I think all developer knows about it. And evil ones will add bad things into their app. And if u install it you're screw.

The button is not really responsive..need to press with right position, right pressure, right angle to make it work..lol..  doh.gif

If below 100..definitely I will do..but I guess not..normally service center will charge sky high price..
Saw the spare part selling in Malaysia also cost around RM50 per piece..
Will go and ask first before decide..  biggrin.gif

Add this line in your buildprop to have on screen nav keys.

qemu.hw.mainkeys=0

Can totally stop using the home button.
Screen size will reduce from 4.3 -> 4.0 inch.
It's still big and doesn't take too long to get used to.
Good for people with problematic home button.

Also, having the recent app button is very useful.

I will definitely choose mcm cm10 build over cm10.1 .. reason is simple.. cm10.1 still consider incomplete and user experience is totally different in term of smoothness..

Even though cm10.1 a few new features but i dont think u will fully utilize it..lol
*
You are right. Android 4.1 & 4.2 not much improvement other than the intro of new clock, camera and Gmail app.
Which are readily available for 4.1.

My nexus 7 upgrade from 4.1 - >4.2
Don't feel in difference also in terms of smoothness and usage.
